AD…the man who never plays.
No they didn't get fleeced. This was a salary dump. AD gets 58 million next year and 62 the year after. He is up for an extension next year. The Mavs didn't want to extend him. They got rid of Russell's contract. They got another #1 this year, which is good because they don't have one in 2027 and don't control their own pick in 28, 29 or 30. They do have the Lakers pick in 2029. They didn't want AD at that money for 40 games a season.
We got everything out of this trade we wanted. It’s a salary dump. Not a disaster at all. Idc if the picks are bad just get this bum off my team. Sure he’s a great guy but we need more than 5 games in a row from someone who makes 60 million dollars. Yeah. He never played more than 5 games in a row.
The majority of us are happy with the trade. Clean slate. Nico/post Luka trade era is over and we can keep tearing things down at the deadline tommorow for better FRPs
The seconds are lubricant for trades. You dump 3 players an get under both aprons and the tax and take a flyer on some young guys. Literally the best we were gonna get for AD and 3 guys that hardly ever see the floor.
