Keeping Middleton is fine, everyone on the roster isnt meant to play. Some ppl can be a great lockeroom presence. But i do hope they sign nemhard and cisse to that final spot
Bagley imho is Chris Gatling 2.0. Few are going to know who that is but essentially Bagley is a solid offensive big to have on the bench.

Don't know anything about Bagley, as a teammate or in the locker room. That said, he could be the Flagg Mavericks version of Dwight Powell moving forward. I'd hope to keep him. Middleton has lost so much to age and injury. He just isn't good anymore and certainly isn't going to play ahead of Naji/PL/Klay/Max. I think they'll eventually buy him out.
Get rid of Middleton, the team needs to lose every game the rest of the year.

B+ Dallas Mavericks did the best they could with 2026 trade moves. Marvin Bagley III is still young, has length, and can be a great asset to the Dallas Mavericks who need healthy bodies right now.
I don’t think Middleton can re-sign with any team that’s above the first apron because of how big his contract is. Which leaves three teams he could go to if those teams don’t want him he will not accept the buyout.
You can’t trade Gafford until DLiv stay healthy just getting AD contract out is a plus
They aren’t trying to stay afloat with the Jones move, they just wanna try him out and see if he’s worth keeping as Kyries back up next season.

We can’t keep or re-sign Middleton or Bagley. They will either get the biggest deal they can find or insist on going to a title contender. Especially Bagley, who has lost his entire career and is no doubt tired of it. They can only overpay these guys which is a terrible idea.
Do you play Bagley in front of PJ?
Middleton in front of Christie and sit Martin for the season?
Just cut them and see what their price is in the summer. We will have one, maybe two spots on the roster to fill for around 5/m a piece. In that range your a buyer
But no more. Same for Tyus.
Regardless it can wait till the summer.

As Far as Middleton, you could stick him in the corner or on the wing, when our guards and Coop drive hes a NBA Championship who can light it up on a catch and shoot basis, plus having a champion in the locker room as well as a Vet is Good for all the young guns…..
Every free agent Dallas has will likely get better offers elsewhere.
