No Kat, no OG, no Deuce and Josh went down early. I knew this was going to be rough. I still believe playoff Brunson is a different player. When Kat and OG aren’t on the court it doesn’t spread their defense. They didn’t care to guard Mikal, Josh or Diawara so they put JB in jail
How soon they forget. We were missing 3 key players, not two. Deuce has been out for a while and only today had been operated on. Furthermore, Josh had to leave the game pretty early in after getting hurt in his first game back. The obvious major drop off in team chemistry among the players we had to use was immediately evident and only worsened as the 2nd wave spelled the starters. Sorry but I’m way over this one and ready to get whole again so we can start the next winning streak. Go Knicks!
Remember something from last year, when during the regular season we couldn't beat the Boston Celtics to save our life? We also were bad against Miami, you see what happen in the playoffs!

A healthy Knicks would beat the pistons without doubts. I agree with you. Physical play should be met with physical play. I saw this coming. other teams testing our waters. Idiot Draymond Green, that dude from Orlando. Our guys never respond and just turn the other cheek. If the pistons want to go back to the back to the bad boy's era let's go back to the 90s Knicks and playing hard ball. getting some fouls but gaining respect. we cannot be slaughtered like this.

The crowd was booing Brunson, he tried too hard to score all by himself, and he stop playing team ball, the game was lost in the first quarter. If the Knicks don't acquire a true power forward and continue to play Josh at power forward the Knicks will definitely have trouble in the playoffs. The NBA is allowing Detroit to play like the "Bad Boys" of old who played tough ball.
This felt like a punt game. No KAT, no OG no shot at beating pistons at home that short handed. Wouldnt read too much into this loss
We lost to Boston in a humiliating way during the previous regular season. It did not interfere with us avenging the Celtics 4-2 semifinal. So, yes, it is a shameful loss. But I believe we will find a tool to defeat Detroit later, when it will matter more.
Also as a team they have few if none explosive athletes. Maybe the rookie Idawara. He has length and can explode. But he is inexperienced. OG may be long and strong he is not explosive he goes at one speed. Solid all around but quickness not there . Brunson continues to pound the ball. Ball movement ceases because the players are waiting to see what is he going to do. If he was on Batmans 1960 show he be known as " The Dribbler"
Even with full roster the team seems to lack quick, lengthy athletic players.
Notice how Towns can't shoot 3's when someone is close to him.
Every time he can't he clumsily drive to the basket and gets blocked. He needs to go to the gym! Further he ha no low post moves and can't jump higher than a fire hydrant. Always com0laing about be fouled and flexing when he gets a basket down low.

Missing free throws hurt especially in critical times and Brunson needs to stop with the damn hero ball also the defense keeps collapsing in the paint leaving guys wide open for threes, I think mikal is overrated and they should have traded him for jrue holiday, this team is not championship ready until they learn how to defend better.
We could’ve used grand theft Alvarado tonight, I keep saying mikal bridges is too soft and inconsistent just look at how he plays, he scared to drive to the basket and his mid range is not all that impressive at all, we should have traded for jrue holiday.
