The Pacers trading Mathurin was stupid; he was their best player left on the team avg'g 18 pts until Haliburton returns and again the Pacers trade away their future
Bottom line is Pacers need a center if they want to win a championship. Zu looks more promisable than any of the other centers they've had. Remember… they went to game 7 last year and still have most of their star players. I think this was a good trade for the Pacers.
Correction: the Pacers have not been looking for a defensive center since losing Myles Turner in the off-season. They’ve been looking to replace Myles Turner for about six years.
PS: if Halliburton regained his form from last year, the Pacers become favorites to come out of the east next year. If the Pacers also draft in the top four pics, the league better watch out!
I’m assuming that the Pacers are going to win a ton of games for the rest of the season but maybe I’m too optimistic 😂, that would lead to a clippers 12 or worse pick I don’t know
This was a win – win for both teams. I’m a huge Mathurin fan and went to bat for him his entire tenure in Indy but the writing was on the wall for both sides.
Your solution for the Pacers to just wait until the offseason to pick up another big is cool in theory but who available would be as good as Zu? Had they waited to trade the future picks for Zubac, that wouldn’t have been optional due to money and the clippers wanting young talent. Mathurin likely signs elsewhere, pacers lose him for nothing, and now they’d have to include JWalker to the clips? That’s an entirely worse situation to be in.
Pacers also viewed this draft class as a clear cut 4 man race. Had they not did this trade and kept the pick and unfortunately drop out of top 4, they likely would have traded it back for fit or traded elsewhere regardless.
Good luck Clippers, please give Mathurin the green light to be himself.

ASSUMING there isn't another huge piece of news left the plan is
Today: Zubac trade
Tomorrow: winners and losers
Saturday: grading every trade
Pacers gunning for that 10th pick
If the clippers get the 5th or 6th pick they win this trade by a mile
You really have to watch NBA games to know how good zubac is, we picked up a huge piece for when Tyrese gets back

Hawks need ZU!!! Whythe hell did they not pursue him????????
keep in mind we traded our 26 pick and got it back we can do the same w the 29 n 31 picks
Pacers need to play some people from the crowd the rest of the year.
we are trying to win forgot them picks
Pacers fan, my only interest outside the top four is if some how Peterson, Dybantsa, Boozer, or Wilson falls to 5. I'm ok with how they got it.

It' a shitty draft. Mathurin has tons of potential and was one of my Favorites on the Pacers.
Performance over Potential! Yes'cer!
Pacers been rolling dice on picks for years and letting go future super stars. The front office is not very bright.😂

Go Pacers, welcome home Zu!
