  1. Now the Wiz will just have to deal with what Lakers and Mavs had to endure during AD's time with them. more time in street clothes than on the floor.

  2. I think the ceiling is higher with Kyrie, AD and Cooper than whatever team they end up with in the future

  3. The Mavs HAD to trade him. People forget but Rich Paul demanded AD to be traded as it hinged on him getting a new contract extension that was too expensive and something the Mavs for alot of right reasons weren't interested in. They also traded away 3 other bad contracts of players who weren't going to contribute now or later on. Good trade for the Mavs.

They need players to give space to Cooper NOW who are available to play so Cooper can keep growing which he is doing at a phenomenal pace.

  4. You can’t pay a guy $54 million per season to play 20 games per season…that’s $2.7 million per game. Mav’s are lucky they didn’t have to offer the Wizards draft picks to take AD off their hands

  5. Mavs could use those picks to get in on the Giannis trade. Open a 5 year window to win

  6. The picks werent going to get better than that I think. But I think they should’ve at least gotten a better young player coming back. Assuming Alex Sarr was their main guy, they should’ve at least gotten a Keyshawn George or bub carrington

  7. As a Mavs fan I’m not, got young guys plus picks, they weren’t going anywhere this season assuming they get into the play in. Plus Davis has been watching in street clothes most of the season anyways

  8. First time i’m disagreeing with Dirk but that’s bc of his perspective on what he was looking to get in return for AD. This was a salary dump more than pick acquisition

  9. Mavs are owned by zio baby etrs who want to move the franchize to las vegas. Simple.

  10. Naw the mavs pulled a fast one tbh 2 first rounders the okc one will be a late 1 rounder and 3 future 2 round picks with 3 players is solid. Ad isn’t even play this season so it was a huge W

  11. I always love hearing Dirk's perspective, but I don't actually think the Coop/AD fit would've made that much sense now that Coop's made this huge leap. It just feels like it would've taken shots away from him

  12. imo i think mavs are gonna be ok, you can be named the best defender, the best powerfoward of your time, but if you are unavailable what is even the point of having you. the mavs are in half rebuild mode anyway so its gonna be fine

  13. I love that this just means they traded Luka for no reason. They made 2 major trades within a year. Short term goal type of teams are how you ruin a franhise.

  14. Bro’s gonna sit out the rest of the season to get injured in the first 20 games next year. Nobody wants to pay max money for a guy that can’t play. We all know how great he is when he’s healthy but he never is. The best ability is availability.

  15. I love dirk but the Mavs are right on this one. Get away from that contract and build around Cooper rookie deal.

  16. AD has already said he’s sitting out the rest of the season. It’s a miracle the Mavs got anything for this bum. I’d consider him to be a negative asset given his salary and injury frequency

  17. Why would you give someone an extension that still has multiple years left on his deal, especially for a player who is never on the floor

  18. We saw potential in it for sure. But 18 different injuries and we paying $55 million a year. Only 25 games played this year for that. Why should we stay in the AD business? At least we will $25 million in cap space next year. That’s something to be excited about

  19. The mavs are happy to get anything with the ad trade i don't know what dirk talking bout like a bunch of teams was lined up to trade for a major injury prone player

  20. Hearing them say the mavs r looking to contend soon, out loud, sounds crazy asf cuz they were literally in the finals 2 szns ago

  21. I get what Dirk is saying because it's kind of sad we never got to see Kyrie, Coop, and AD all play together because that would have been a solid team. The issue is that AD has some legitimate health issues to where he can never stay on the court and we don't know how Kyrie will look when he returns.
