I don’t even think Harden is the 3rd option . He might be 4th to be honest . Obviously he can choose to be the second option but in the interest of efficiency , they are probably better the less he prioritizes scoring because they are perimeter and pick and roll centric . I never really understood how good his usage of the big man was . Don’t mistake this for me saying he is not the second best player . He obviously is the second most impactful player but if we are talking scoring , it may be the case that he relies solely on late shot clock creation for his scoring on this team. That’s the beauty of his game and how it translates to a team that puts quality first. He doesn’t need to get rolling . He can decide to be a bucket as the situation calls for it but he’s not shot hunting and it’s better that way . He’s also buying into the team defense . He believes that the effort is paying off and it’s been awhile since he’s looked that way . He shot 4 shots tonight . Cleveland is like the woman that he thinks is worth settling down for . He doesn’t have to chase shots out of fear that if he doesn’t the team will settle for a worse one . More assists than shots is something you don’t expect with harden but I’m loving this and I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t see it playing out how it has so far but like I said I underestimated his playmaking particularly his ability to feed the big . When Mobley comes back his options double . Let’s not sleep on the fact that Jarret Allen is out scoring him by quite a decent amount in the 3 games they’ve played

Donovan Mitchell came into the league as an off ball 2 guard. It was Utah that forced him to be an on ball play maker. Some of his best works happens when he's paired up with reliable play makers and is allowed to play off ball. He's still a dawg either way.
