Bingo, Windy.
The return of the Sonics to Seattle is going to require a lot of money. First, the expansion fee to the league is going to be, what, 2 billion? Then, the new team owner(s) will have to build a new arena completely out-of-pocket, as Seattle has a law on the books preventing public money from being used for private stadiums/arenas. This is why the original team moved in the first place, and was a direct result of the football & baseball stadiums being built with public money despite being rejected by the voters multiple times. So, another billion for a new facility. (They aren't going to share the arena with the Kraken because it's the same horrible location as before and no one wants to share building revenues.) Three billion put up before playing a game or building a roster. Who is putting that up?
There are already 7ish teams that are terrible and tank every year…that doesn't exactly scream that thr league is ready to thin the talent out even more
Tatum the only Superstar defenses want to return. How do you not generate fear in opponents but are considered a Superstar. 😂
KC/STL are worth being looked at for a NBA expansion team
