This has me WAY too Fired Up…

The Toronto Raptors had one of the most well-rounded rosters ever assembled in 2019 when they won the championship, and Kawhi Leonard just had some comments on the structure of that team that are genuinely absurd. Ben Rogers breaks down these comments as well as some interesting tidbits from All-Star Weekend.

  1. He's a great player – but not the best GM! Paul George was never that good – even if he played 82 games a year. Stick to the basketball court and let the GM's GM.

  2. Work ethic? He didn't even show up to go tree planting. I hope they fine him and his uncle to high heaven.

  3. CAPITAL NO!

Karma's a bitch. Not returning to his hometown – but his outrageous demands than destroyed the Clippers chances of building a real contender. Good luck with the Play-In tournament. More time for no-show jobs, joke-joke.

  4. Alvin cleared up the whole Fred Finals MVP talk… Fred's mentor was the judge that gave it to him over Kawhi. Fred was consistently awful. So bad we benched him for most of our playoffs. His defense looked good because Curry was exposed as all hype.

  5. thats why its absolutely idiotic idea to ,bring him back, he is such arrogant , the best proof, WHAT HE ACHIEVED WITH CLIPPERS, absolutely nothing and i think he sent us signal, i dont want to go raptors, SO NO KAWAHI , and what pay him milions for planting the trees, no thank you

  6. Now im not surprised why his current team is so messed up. He is not the right person to gauge talents. He failed big time when tried to be like GM. Shame he still underestimate his former Raptor teammates until now.

  7. The 2019 Raptors bench would have made the playoffs that year. Norm, ibaka, OG, Freddie V…. We’re coming the bench. Good lord.

  8. “No talent”? That’s crazy. If that Raptors team had no talent, why hasn’t he won a championship since leaving them? What does he need to win another one? You don’t win a championship with “just work ethic.” You win with talent, depth, basketball IQ, and heart. Kawhi needs to put some respect on the Raptors and on Canada.

  9. The Raptors were already a first place team before he came along. They needed his additional firepower to take it all and win the championship. Kawhi's just inherently awkward and makes bad decisions. The time that's passed has proven he was dumb to leave. Championships didn't follow him wherever he went.

  10. This team lost McGrady and Carter for nothing (if they stay together they probably win a chip). Painful. Kawhi leaving Alex McKechnie was the worst career decision he ever made. I think this is the first healthy (so far) season he's had since he left

  11. One player stood between raps and three championship runs …..LeBron ,,,,,they were a damn good team

  12. Bro… From one Raptors fan to another, just move on.

This is just a case of interacting with your ex in a random HS reunion, the one you had the most amazing sex so far. With emphasis on the word "so far".

The roster, the partner you have now have so much potential for even more meaningful fun.

No need to look back. If at all, it just made it possible to realize and actualize better dreams. More, both in terms of scale and number.

Scottie, BI, RJ, and the rest of the team are one or two moves away from doing it all again.

In the right ear, out of the left. Shrug it off and walk away smiling.

  13. Oh my god relax… they weren’t 6 all stars at the time. They had no business beating the stacked warriors. What’s wrong with saying they worked hard?

  14. Kawhi is a great basketball player but hardly an intellectual!
I wouldn't take much notice of what this guy says

  15. He's the biggest dumbass in the NBA. He's the first finals mvp to not re sign with the team he just won a championship in the history of the NBA. When Kawhit was out with injury management, the team went 17-5. Enough said. They destroyed a healthy GSW squad by 20 points in the regular season without Kawhi. No one was stopping that team that year. Kawhi is just trying to defend why he left for some scandalous reason to get paid an extra 7 million dollars a year illegally… stfu Kawhi

  16. I don't know why everyone is so bent out of shape by what Kawhi said. Kawhi was a great player (soldier) for the Raptors that 1 year, he help bring a title to Toronto. But he showed in SA/Toronto/Clippers he isn't the best teammate or judge of players. His emotional intelligence is about a 3 on the scale of 1 to 10. He might lead by example but if you are a teammate you are not sure which Kawhi you are going into battle with. I appreciate the title he brought the Raptors, I also said he would suffer the Raptors jinx when he left and he has. He can't say the talent wasn't there Siakam is as good if not better than George was/is the numbers are fairly comparable. He went to the Clippers and guess what the talent wasn't/hasn't been there don't care they brought in George, Harden and Westbrook. Those 3 are just bigger names but they are not winners, the closest to a winner is George and even he isn't a winner. Guess what else was lacking a work ethic. Siakam has went to 2 finals. I fully believe had Nurse played their best 5 against Boston they beat the Celtics in the bubble then beat Miami setting up a chance at title #2. Nurse didn't, they lost. I also believe had Masai/Bobby invested in the right core (Siakam/OG/Norm) then add Scottie to the mix the team wouldn't have had to have start and stop rebuilds.

Kawhi has shown to be a great player with high basketball IQ on the court. Off of it leaves a lot to be desired especially as a decision maker involved in personal decisions.
