    Yes and no. KAI is a huge part of DAL hopes for the near future. This season is lost. Even with KAI, it would be a stretch to get to 10th. Soon to be 34 and not yet a year out from surgery, it makes little sense for him to return. Now, is it better for DAL to not have him, given the realities of the standings and this draft, absolutely. So it's both, probably leaning a little more tanking but also a legitimate decision.
