The mavs shouldn’t bring flagg back until after the kings game. If we loose those games against the tank warriors we can literally get a top 3 pick in this draft
How do these guards stack up against Dylan Haroer from last year? And would you trade our top pic for him if San Antonio would do it?
Wilson is the best player available unless you really believe Flemings is a franchise point guard.
Are we actually the 4 pic?
Hopefully, we'll get the fourth pick, CW, and then trade PJ + Marshall for the Trail Blazers' Holiday + the Trail Blazers' 13th-14th pick (if they don't make the playoffs this year and don't get a top-four pick) to select a guard who drops to that pick, and then pick Swain or Morez/Johnson Jr. with the 29th pick.
Between the two, I'd go with Kingston over Wilson.
I think Wilson is currently overhyped. 1 is i think Wilson isn't a wing, but a versatile big. 2. I don't trust his scoring. He really only scores if he has an open lane or just reach over guys because he's tall and has a long wingspan. Some of his shot selection works in College but not in NBA.
He does have decently good vision.
And his defense i think is a bit overrated because I think most of it is due to his size and athleticism. There's hardly anything that really pops out with his defense besides his size. Like, Cooper has the size but he's also smart defensively, has the instinct and that's what popped out with Cooper. Wilson, I think he's just big and that's it. Im pretty sure if everyone was 6'10, with a plus 7 ft wingspan and can move would be considered a good defender and should be a good defender at least, there shouldn't be an excuse being that big and not being a good defender.
I'd just go with Kingston simply because he's one of the top guards, if not, the best guard and the Mavericks needs better guards.
So go with Kingston and hope that Jefferson or Lendeborg falls down in the 30s because they're slightly older, but they're very solid 2-way wing players with great physical size that can help you win now and are still young enough to be building blocks with Cooper.

Isn't the 4th pick quite unlikely? We'd have to end with one of the bottom 4 records and either get jumped and drop there, or be 4th with no jumps 1-3. I think it might be our most unlikely pick in the top 10, given we're around 7th best odds now.

If Wilson is available then he’s a no-brainer for me. High motor, high ceiling, great teammate/player.
I personally like Flemings more but I wouldn’t be upset if we choose Wilson instead….and yes I probably would draft him over Boozer too just for this Mavs team 😂

If the Mavs don't land in top 4 it could be a blessing in disquise. Flemings, Philion, Wagler and Acuff will all be great olayers alongside Cooper. Personally I think Acuff will be the next Allen Iverson.
If i get pick 3 or 4. I would trade it move down to 6 or 7 and get a much needed point guard and a first next yr. We need a playmaker. Cooper, naji and Max need shooters and playmaking.
Wlison because of lenght height and the fact tht Kaleb is a 2 way player and the fact tht Kyrie is not going anywhere anytime son which means any point gaurd is not going to get any playing time. Kyrie will remain because Cooper is not going to stay if Mavs are not competitive
They are not taken a point unless it is Petersen and tht is only because he can play the 2 and tht he is 6'5". Kaleb is the best match for Cooper. KALEB IS 6' 10 and upside is mad high.
and has beaten and Petersen, Boozer, and AJ head up. The top 4 in the draft are Kaleb, Boozer, AJ, and Petersen. Ifany of those are available you take them period.
Kyrie is your point gaurd next year you don't have a choice if you want Cooper to remain your star. He has losely sd he not going through this Next year. That means Kyrie is starting so it make no sense to take a point gaurd
Cooper and Kaleb can gaurd all 5 positions

Revolves around Cooper Flagg, the real debate is ceiling vs fit.
Mikel Brown Jr. is the youngest and has the highest upside — true lead guard traits, size, and star swing potential.
Kingston Flemings is the safer play: higher floor, polished scorer, but probably caps as a very good starter.
Caleb Wilson fits Flagg perfectly on defense and transition, but his ceiling hinges on the jumper.
If I’m position to pick Caleb Wilson and flemings im taking Caleb Wilson because I can always get a pg but to get a floor spacing big with Wilson’s athleticism and skills is less common. We can always trade a big or two and a pick for a pg.
Coop and Caleb could play 2-5 and would be monsters on defense then run Celtics model of lights out shooting around them and this team would be FUN for us to watch the next 8-10 years
If we are top 4, PG can wait till pick number 30 or the offseason. Top 4 we better take (anyone available) from Peterson, Dybansta, Boozer or Wilson.

Is Acuff possible? Man I really like that kid. He's a bucket. I think Acuff and Coop can play together really well.
Wilson is nice if we're looking for another wing with size instead. I like that he has height for a forward and can move, he's basically like Coop. That's why I'm skeptical with Boozer, I think he's undersized. He's gonna have problems in the NBA he's gonna look short, plus he's heavy. Heavy and short is a bad combination in basketball. 🤷
