Barkley is a HATER. Lakers are not title contenders BUT 1. they are not mediocre and 2. There aren't many other teams in the west above their level: OKC, Spurs and Denver are a cut above, that's 3 teams, not "many others", that deserve more coverage than Lakers. Lakers isin next tier with Houston, Minnesota, etc… incomplete teams for one reason or the other (not enough offense, or poor defence, no depth, etc..)

Luka and Reeves are 2 of the worst 5 current defensive players in the entire NBA. Now at age 41+, LeBron is one of the worst 10-20 defensive players in the league. NO TEAM will win a series in the playoffs, with 3 players that bad on defense, in the starting lineup. Lakers will make the playoffs as a 5 or 6 seed…. then get bounced out of first round of playoffs hard, giving up 120+ per game, to one of the top few seeds in the West.
Lakers should have traded LeBron a few years ago, when they could have gotten something for him. Lakers should have NEVER traded for Luka. He is a tremendous offensive player. But he is horrid on defense, he is a whiner crybaby & NOT a solid team leader. Luka, just like Harden, just like Westbrook, will pile up a lot of stats in the regular season, with majority of those numbers coming against the mid-tier and garbage team in the league. Then they will ALWAYS choke & lose in the playoffs, to the top teams, that also play solid defense & don't whine & cry, anytime they don't get the calls they think they should.

My favorite reaction is washed-up vets like Charles Barkley (who made one Final in his WHOLE career… and lost) criticizing Luka Doncic for not moving the ball faster.
Luka is putting up better offensive numbers than Jordan did (plus rebounds), and people don't just admit the obvious….that Doncic needs better players so he doesn't HAVE TO do everything for them to succeed. They try to blame him for the mediocrity of the players around him.
I never heard anyone complaining that Luc Longley could be great if only Jordan gave him the ball more and got out of the way.
