In before Lakers fans start complaining that the refs didn’t call a goal-tend on a shot that wasn’t going to go in anyway 😂
I thought Luka was supposed to be in better shape this year? He was winded by the second quarter from the constant ball pressure.
I understand we(the lakers) aren’t a championship team but it is frustrating to see us seemingly not even put up a fight in games where we are outmatched. I would love to see them at least win a playoff series but I feel like it is entirely possible we get matched with a better team and barely put up a fight. Super frustrating
The celtics played it like a playoff game and the Lakers played it like a late February game where seeding doesn't matter. Most players have a hard time just "turning it on" and you need to have the culture built throughout the year with players that are willing to commit that level of output every night. The celtics are so much fun to watch.
Pritchard can absolutely swing games when he gets hot. Celtics are often up like 5 or 6 points then C's get a few stops, a few fast break buckets, an onslaught of Pritchard 3s, and suddenly the Celtics are up 15 and never look back. He's been on a tear since coming off the bench and even if Tatum comes back Pritch is gonna keep swinging games with elite and clutch shooting. He started the year a bit slow with his efficiency with defense able to commit more defenders his way, but he's stepped up. Playing with JB, JT, and White on the court he's gonna have even more open looks. His only real downside is his size when bigger smart guards or good coaches take advantage. I was at a Denver vs Boston game last season and Jamal Murray single handedly got Denver back in the game by repeatedly targeting Pritchard. Like 4 possessions in a row he drove hard at Pritchard then pulled up for easy close range 2s that Pritchard just wasnt tall enough to contest. Mazulla had to sub him out to stop the Denver run. That's why I like him coming off the bench, even if he does play starter minutes regardless. Mazulla can limit mismatches in the 1st quarter and get the most upside from him.
If Celtics Hugo, Scheierman, and Walsh could consistently be a peste on defense just like how they did it with the Lakers, they will have a shot in the Finals. Pistons as good as they are this regular season dont have that playoffs experience compared to Celtics still have the majority of the bench won rings and the MVP finals of JB.
Don’t worry, Lakers fans.
You get to play some low hanging fruit for the next few nights.
The Celtics lost 5 of their top 8 guys.
The only real "replacement" is Vooch.
The others who are contributing are all home-grown very late first or second round picks that should be 12-15th guys or in the G-League.
This team is unbelievable.
I like the interview where Derrick White said Joe Mazulla calked him to say happy birthday before the season and said “Happy birthday, they are saying we are not going to be good this year, i love it! “ then hung up. Lol.
