I am a diehard Celtics fan, but I think we must never, ever forget the debt we owe to the 50"s & 60's Celtics teams for the reputation that we have. Of the 18 rings, they won 11 – and they did it by 1968-69! That means we have 7 more titles in the 55 years that came after. I am not minimizing the incredible job that Stevens, Mazzulla, ownership, and this group of players have done. They might be my favorite Celts team of all time. I just think we owe our reputation to Cousy, Russell, Heinsohn, Sanders, Havlicek, the Jones boys and all the rest that made the franchise what it is. We would be "ordinary" otherwise.
