Fred may not even be 100% next season and even if he is, there is no guarantee that he will stay healthy for entirety of season. Stone still needs a backup plan instead of sitting on his hands at the beginning of this season and again at trade deadline. Rockets and Rockets fans deserve better than this overly cautious GM.
Sign Ben Simmons to play backup PG and backup Center. Simmons allows Reed to continue being score first guard/secondary ball handler with Ben Simmons as primary ball handler while playing elite defense. Ben Simmons also allows Udoka to stop relying on DFS and Tate to play such heavy rotation minutes because both are obviously not 100%.
Reed needs to play 27-32 minutes and average at least 10 attempts from 3. Minimize turnovers, more ball movement in half court offense, increase pace, take more 3's – Rockets will shock teams in postseason.
