Klays absence was valid
Silver likes the tanking. The fines obviously are pointless and are just to show that he acted like he did something about it.
I don’t want to pee on anyone’s cornflakes
-Rick Carlisle
Tanking is causing a lot of problems. A lot of stadiums are empty. Luka in LA is helping ratings a lot, but in other places, you can see lots of empty seats.
Hopefully, we’ll still do OK, dirty Nick Claxton injured our best player so. Hopefully he’s OK though. I’m quickly, understanding why Luka Dončić doesn’t like him. He’s sneaky dirty and then tries to act innocent. Anthony Townes, Nikola Jokić, LeBron style, do something sneaky dirty, then try to act innocent. Hopefully Middleton is OK. We’re gonna need him if we’re pushing for a play-in spot
I think the blatant rigging for Dallas last year has enabled a lot of this. A lot of fans outside of Dallas talk about this a lot. Everyone knows it was rigged. I am not sure there is a solution though. The NBA has a credibility problem. NIL in college isn't helping either. Simply put, a lot of people think a lot of players just don't give a damn.
Let us know how Middleton is doing when you get a chance
The fact that the Kings havn't been fined yet is a joke.
The past 2 years they are rewarding the teams tht are not tanking
Lotto balls
Tanking means nothing when it comes to lotto balls
It makes sense NOW to make it an open bidding process for the best young talent.
I’m assured that they will usually take the largest three year deal (with a fourth year mutual agreement) but for those willing to take less let them.
Every team will get 200/M a year to spend (must spend every penny every year) and may the best run organizations win. Hard cap from now on and a yearly 5-8 man protection draft so that poor teams can reload with talent. For example if players 6-15 were dumped on the league every year I’m assured parity can be achieved.
Who doesn’t want to see a Utah/Cleveland finals lol.
Just tired of all the bitching.
Of the tanking and free agent mischief.
Open free agency the day after the end of the season finals.
NO more draft tomfoolery.
Free agents will either pick the most money or the best situation for their talents.
Exciting new talent coming in every year.
No more restrictions on trades.
You just have to stay under the cap by waiving players to make room or paying out of pocket to get under the hard cap.
I love it when Dallas gets new talent and love it when there’s a trade (with one exception lol).
The playoffs need a bye system for the top two teams. The play-in needs to be best of three (back to back to back games, like a cage fight/fight to the death).
No more regular season MVP’s.
Only playoff MVP’s will be recognized from now on.
Multi-million dollars bonuses for making the playoffs, winning each round.
Bonuses for playing all 82 games.
Bonuses for leading the league in steals, blocked shots, three point makes and dunks.
Let’s have some fun!!!!!
You want to solve tanking forever? Do what the Premier League in England does. Take the worst teams each season and delegate them to the minor league. Then promote the best teams from the minors into the NBA. When the owners realize that their revenues from attendance, merch, TV, etc are in the toilet because they TRIED to lose games, then they won't do that anymore.
Yeah, the G league would need an upgrade to make this real but losing games on purpose is real already and something has to be done to stop it.
The issue of purposely tanking is affecting revenue. The product is tarnished. Carlisle needs to stfu and stick to basketball and leave business to those who have their own money invested.
Dallas’ final 13 games are not against any of the bottom seven teams
(Memphis, Utah, New Orleans, Washington,Brooklyn, Indiana and Sacramento).
That would be a good stretch to see what AJ, Nemby, miles Kelly and Cisse could do.
Since we will be huge underdogs anyway perhaps we could justify playing our worst/Youngest talent for
Observation purposes.
We have to know what we’ve got for next year.
Since we aren’t finishing “top 3” we can at least hang on to our 7th slot given we will likely win all four of our remaining games vs Memphis, Sacramento and New Orleans.
That still gives us a 1 in 3 chance for a top 4 pick. Not one in two but still a decent shot.
That is quite the allegation Rick is making against the NBA, the NBPA is going to be really pissed off if the thing about telling them to medicate Nesmith is true. This could actually be pretty hot water for Silver. They may have to rescind that fine on the Pacers. The Mavs haven't even been giving great effort these last two games, the game against the Pacers was basically an all star game in terms of effort, and the Nets got hosed by the refs in the 4th quarter when they were making a run. They really need to lose that upcoming game against the Grizzlies to keep their 7th spot though.
