Darrell Griffith was more than a dunker. The Louisville native became a living legend after leading the Cardinals to the 1980 National Championship. The Utah Jazz selected him in the 1980 NBA Draft. The Jazz were bad, but Dr. Dunkenstein brought excitement. He helped resurrect the franchise, but after an injury, Griffith was no longer a part of Utah’s plan as they transitioned to the Stockon-Malone era.
