No tanking but the NBA is punishing us by taking away our draft picks instead of rewarding us smh
So when a player tanks they get thrown out of the league, but when a team tanks they’re owner gets a small fine. Cmon now

Because tonight’s game carries some importance for the Heat I’m gonna mark it as a loss. You cannot count on them to perform when it matters.
Nope. Get tickets so kid can see favorite players. Coach makes great decisions.
My tanking solution: remove percentages, every team that misses the playoffs has the same exact lottery odds. That removes the need for throwing games because you can miss the playoffs by 1 game and still have equal odds at top pick.
And the fail safe horrible franchise solution: if a team misses the playoffs 5 years in a row then they are guaranteed a top 3 pick. This works because I don’t think any ownership or fan base would be down for a 5 year tank job.
If it’s manipulating the game and it’s an integrity issue then the penalty should be stern. Any team blatantly tanking should be disqualified from the lottery and resume with the last pick of the round.
I really enjoy hearing both of you guys yapping about stuff outside the heat.

Interesting that you guys made zero mention of the role online sports betting (especially player props) has on tanking and why people seem to be a lot angrier by it this season. While correlation does not equal causation, there certainly sems to be some smoke there. I saw someone suggest that once a team is mathematically eliminated from the post season, they should be on the clock so to speak, meaning that every win from that point forward results in more ping pong balls. Thoughts?

Tanking matters because if you are a team in the middle, or even in the playoffs without many avenues to improve, yet you do all the right things to compete, you don’t get to have access to the best talents coming into the NBA. Organizations intentionally losing is bad for the sport, and for a lot of these picks their careers get ruined for going into organizations with losing cultures. So idk. It’s not a huge deal, but it is a problem
Spurs- tanked for a couple years… now are set for the future. . Rockets- tank for a couple years got a bunch of really good young players, and assets and because of that they were able to get KD Timberwolves- tanked for a couple years and got the number one pick a couple times… Pistons- tank for a couple years got paid and a bunch of young good assets
Unless you can or you have a bunch of assets to acquire a superstar there's no other way if you are a middle of the pack team… you're not good enough to win it all and you're not bad enough to win the lottery and get a real talent
