This was a very important win for the Hawks, particularly without JK. After the Bucks and Giannis controlled the first half, I was skeptical the Hawks could pull it off. But they showed impressive resilience and depth to turn the game around and secure a convincing victory.
“basketball never”? brad how could you 😢
This is a good win, no two ways about it. That said, we are not a "red hot team" right now. We are taking care of business and that's great.
I had this thought in the car after the game today:
When I watch Risacher play, it's almost as if I am watching a young player that is too coachable for his own good. It's not just that his play style on both ends of the court has dramatically shifted since his first games as a rookie. It almost seems shift game to game. There was a period where he was guarding Cam Thomas today, and the way he was hand checking and playing up in his grill was something I am not at all used to seeing from him. It struck me that he must've been instructed to do something like that. I feel like someone on the staff tells him to make a minor adjustment, and he like hyper-fixates on it for the next game.
When we got him, the most striking thing about his game was his creative finishing and scoring out of the post, pivots and step throughs and awkward movements to get open layups that worked a lot of the time. He doesn't do that anymore at all, they've completely coached it out of him, now he just shoots 3's and occasionally gets a chance at a wide open dunk. I'm 100% convinced he was a more complete scorer game 1 of his rookie year than he is now. Makes me appreciate Dyson's unorthidox scoring style a little more because god knows they're trying to coach that out of him too.
Nice come back! Still think CJ shots to much! He should never start!
Are you covering magic city night 😂😂😂🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
