He’s incredible at shedding his primary defender for a clean look at the rim. While he has gotten caught on a lot of chasedown blocks, one adjustment for that he’s shown recently is just simply dunking more lol
I just don't see a way to stop a fully actualized Harper without conceding a wide-open look to Wemby or Castle
He plays big in big games. Dylan Harper is flying under the radar big time. Glad you all are brining this to everyone’s attention publicly.
Harper is one of the best in the league at finishing at the rim already! Upper 90 percentile.
He’s basically being penalized for coming off the bench on a great team!
As a Spurs fan, I’m ecstatic about him. He literally has the best Net Rating of all rookies in the league by a long shot but nobody notices. He should be ROY but he’s not getting his due because he’s not scoring 30+ points and playing 40 minutes a game.
Our best defensive lineup has Wemby, Steph Castle, Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant together.
Carter Bryant can get beat initially off the dribble but his recovery ability is unreal and he’s able to use his 7 ft wingspan to block shots and steal the ball away as someone is driving by him.
Dylan Harper is great at keeping his man in front of him to give a good contest with his undervalued athleticism. He’s going to be a lock down defender in time just like Steph Castle and Carter Bryant.
So why aren’t you guys promoting him to be a rookie of the year? He’s having a winning impact on his team more than any other player as far as the rookie is concerned your support for rookie of the year goes the wrong way
That defensive rating of Wemby-Castle-Harper is beyond ridiculous.
If Carter Bryant takes the next step in his sophomore year and can get more of the Champagnie minutes… Good luck for the next of the league trying to score on the Spurs.
The problem is that Harper probably won't be a starter for at least 4 seasons. They won't move D'60million Fox to the bench, & I doubt any team will take his contract.
i'd give wemby MVP over shai because after the spurs destroyed them 2 times they sat shai and the rest of the team. I cant give a guy MVP when he gets beat by the second guy so much that he tucks tail and ducks him.
