  1. Honestly nick and guys like skip are just scared… scared that once wemby wins that first MVP it'll be his for a few years going forward 😂

  2. This guy just says crazy stuff for attention. One week he's extolling the virtues of the Spurs and Wemby then the next he's trying to minimize Wemby.

First of all, Wemby was asked to state his case for why he should be considered the MVP. A legitimate question from a reporter. Wemby didn't try to give a PC answer or skirt the question, he just gave a pragmatic and well thought out response sharing his honest opinion without directly dissing anyone.

He started by saying, that in his mind, the MVP should be the player that has the greatest impact on his team's success in the league. That he understands why this race hasn't been decided yet as all the MVP candidates in contention are worthy and each having sensational seasons. But he feels he should win the award and it's his goal to win both MVP and DPOY. Then he stated his three reasons: 1.) His Spurs team dominated OKC in head-to-head matchups this year going 4-1 even accounting for the one win where OKC had several starters hurt. 2.) We measure MVP performance largely by offensive impact and not enough by defensive impact, yet defense is 50% of the game. 3.) He's the most impactful player on defense in the league.

To me those are all legitimate arguments. But what really impressed me was the end where he made himself accountable for proving to us and leaving no doubt in the Spurs remaining games for why voters should pick him. That's a common theme with Wemby, he holds himself to a higher standard than everyone else.

Since he said these words, Wemby has recorded 5 blocks against Miami and 7 blocks last night against Memphis. We'll see what kinds of games he has in the remaining 9 games but he's clearly on a mission to prove it to us.

  3. I also love Wemby's approach and demeanor. He's goal oriented, strategic, an outside-the-box thinker and focused on continuous improvement. He truly wants to be the GOAT and he's doing everything he can to get there as quickly as possible.

He took an honest assessment of himself this past summer identified four different things he wanted to work on over the summer to improve his overall game then went out and addressed all four.

1.) He wanted to improve his ballhandling skills, so he trained with Jamal Crawford, one of the best ever in this area.

2.) He wanted to improve his ability to develop that competitive "killer instinct" that the great ones have in pro sports, so he spent time with KG one of the best big men ever that played with that "killer instinct" that he, MJ, Kobe and others have had.

3.) He wanted to work on his spin moves and post-game, so he trained with Hakeem, one of the best ever in this area.

4.) He wanted to improve his ability to control his emotions so he can stay calm in high pressure situations using techniques like meditation, so he spent time learning from the masters at Shaolin temple. Shaolin temple! Show me another NBA player that ever thought to do that.

After absorbing all this knowledge, he put it to work in the gym and now he's so much better in each of these areas this season. It wouldn't surprise me if he spends time this summer working with Kareem to master the only unblockable shot in NBA history – the skyhook. He's already working on this shot. Heaven help the league when he's raining skyhooks on each team.

  4. Julian i warned you Nick other son outside of Mahomes is Luka Lol you see how he fan girls over him Lol!! 🤣🤣

  5. Wanna talk double standards? Let’s.

Who’s the one “generational talent” that was hyped up tf after Jordan? Who’s that one player that was anointed before stepping on theNBA court? Who’s the one player that was compared to Jordan, and yet refused to ever compete in the dunk contest? Who’s that one player that crowned himself “the greatest of all time” after getting a couple NBA titles? Who’s that player that doesn’t even come close to having the same accolades in a short amount of time as Jordan did but everyone considers him the GOAT just because of his longevity?!?

Now compare this dude to Wemby. It ain’t even close. #iykyk

  6. I will use a wildfire analogy to shut down nick Wrights opinion. The regular season is the forest. The spurs are the fire. Is the fire hot enough to burn through whole forest? That question has been answered. Not only have the spurs burned through the whole forest, they've torched the whole forest so hot that it translates to the post season. of course we could be wrong. But if they hit the post season burning this hot, they will be champions. AND OBVIOUSLY WEMBY IS THE STARK PLUG TO THIS FIRE. NICK'S JUST HATING.
