  1. Saying Wilbon or anyone, putting JB #1 in MVP voting should have their vote taken away is maybe the dumbest thing you've ever said. It's most valuable, not who has the highest true shooting percentage all year. Dude is averaging 29-7-5 all year. That's pretty consistent. He's led a team nobody gave a chance in hell to compete for a title this year, to the "likely team out of the East", with comparable offensive numbers to all the other guys. All the other guys' teams were already expected to win.

  2. "Jalen straight up outplayed SGA" where SGA missed 2 shots total and his potential assists were smokes by his wide open shooters.
The results certainly out paced the process.
OKC's defense first guys streaking shooting is the Achilles heel of their team.
If they're off, SGA can be loaded up on and stopped

  3. Imagine the field day all the npcs on twitter would have if Luka had that defensive sequence in the clutch that SGA had against Jaylen Brown šŸ˜‚

  4. Jason I ride with you but calling Jaylen anything but incredibly consistent is wild work. 48 percent from the field for a wing is among the elite scorers. He’s a top 5 scorer who has only had a handful of games above 40 or under 25… that’s definition consistency. You know every single game what you’re getting from him… and come on man, comparing his shooting efficiency to Shai? That’s disingenuous as all hell. Shai is having a historically great shooting year… Jaylen is shooting better than Luka and Cade – only other wings other than SGA above him in mvp latter….

  5. Mailbag: when is the media going to realize Kd as good as he is, he’s honestly just a superstar role player shooter. I know we made Bron into that but with Luka and Austin it contributes to winning, never once has Bron needed to be #1 option and has failed the team this bad as much as kd, a rockets team he hand picked to go to.

  6. Nahhh i was there he was getting stripped a ton jb is not good at dribbling on the perimeter going downhill he may be the best in the league but on the perimeter he gets overwhelmed it resulted in a turnover or a him fouling, it was the same for pritchard especially in the 4th.

  7. The Celtics proved they’re the best team in the east? Really? Pistons are still better right now… so I’m guessing if the pistons win a big game you’ll immediately change your mind?

I watch every one of your episodes because your brilliant and state your points in a way even casuals can understand.. but every once in a while, I get Colin Cowherd vibes with the recency bias and flip flop

  8. You can't use the argument that a team around someone is trash for their MVP case when their on/off number is -8 unless you think they are that good of a cheerleader when on the bench šŸ¤·šŸ»

  9. Brown is the perfect case study to judge the basketball kmowledge of people. If you think he's a real top tier MVP caliber player than you should work on your basketball kmowledge and how you see what is going on when you're watching a game.

  10. I dont get it, JTs process was crazy last night, tatum had 19 12 and 7 last night. He shot 3-6 from the 3 5-12 from the field

  11. Podcasters need to shine more light on this Scott Foster nonsense. Thin-skinned and has far too much influence on who wins these games. No idea how the Wolves won with Foster making these absurd calls at pivotal moments

  12. Jaden out, Naz out Rudy out for the 15 point run. Point… rockets are a play in team. Clippers and trailblazers better. Might be around suns but probably more around golden state

  13. Nba mailbag: How important is tatums ability to be versitile defenfensivly and efficent offensive like he was in the thunder game? I feel like hes the best on this boston team when it comes to running the offense. He sees the floor better and has the ability to make some jokic-esque passes that arent solely reliant on drivinf and kicking like brown depends on.

  14. really confused on how shai got outplayed when he missed less shots had less fts, less turnovers, the same amount of assists and generated the same quality shots 😭. only difference was boston didn’t have caruso going 1/8 from 3

  15. You guys base things on one game too often. Small sample size seems to be how things are done these days….Watch out for Atlanta, Charlotte and NY. Brown is going to win you a championship. Luka is going to score a lot of points and checkout on defense.

  16. Mailbag;

Should Wembys low minutes be held against him in the MVP conversation?

Wembys impact with STOCKS and roll gravity is insane. Is it enough to offset the scoring margin that Shai and Luka have?

How does one calculate the roll gravity an STOCKS. On betting apps blocks and steals are often worth much much more than a single point. The app I use awards 3 pts for a block or an assist and only 1 per point scored. Should there be a voting structure in place that calculates a point total so that offense and defense can be calculated
into a single number to help track total impact?

  17. Using consistency as an argument against JB for MVP is pretty obtuse. Granted, as a Celtics fan , I’ve watched very game this year. He’s been elite from start to finish, is 3rd in the league behind no defense Luka, and Shai in 30 point games this year

  18. Wilbons argument was defense is 50% of the game. JB is a way better defender than SGA and Luka is a defensive liability. And your response is more offense stats

  19. Bro only reason why Cade and brown were mentioned was BY DEFAULT cause the real mvps were so close to miss the awards.

  20. Scott Foster is legitimately corrupt. Last night is the evidence I would close with at a trial. He should be in jail.

  21. Tatum absolutely turned that whole game around in the second quarter. He scored several times, but he also set the tone on defense and rebounding for the rest of the game.

  22. SGA is mediocre defender JB can elite defend in big games
    It’s not all offense
Okc would be better with jb than Boston with SGA

  23. It shouldn’t be understated that the Rockets lost despite some ref cooking and an overtime where the Wolves were without Ant, Ayo, Naz, Rudy and Jaden.

  24. Jaylen isn’t in the same tier as Luka?? ā€œCan be better than the best players in a 1 game sample.ā€ Jason, Jaylen showed he was better in the most important 5 game span Luka and Brown had ever played. He’s on that tier already, and Tatum (assuming he gets back to what he was prior to injury) is on that level as well. Advanced stats be damned, winning in the playoffs ABSOLUTELY matter

  25. It's irresponsible to vote Jaylen as MVP yet he has consistently outplayed players you place above him all season long. But hey, slave to metrics I guess.

  26. with the spurs only being 2 back of okc with the tiebreaker (and if the spurs try to get the number 1 seed, keep in mind wemby has to play at least 7 of the 9 remaining games to qualify for the 65 game threshold), this has interesting ramifications on okc's ability to rest down the stretch (last year sga sat out the last 3 games) and on denver's easy remaining schedule since their last 2 games are – you guessed it – the spurs and okc. this is the most interesting race at the top in a minute and i'm here for it.

  27. Lol dis guy tries to present himself as da voice of reason, but then he tries to tell us dat Tatum was entering top tier superstar level. Da same guy who lost finals MVP to a lesser version of da JB we are witnessing today. Dis guy is a fanboy for Tatum. Da whole dialogue abt JB where he acts like he’s complimenting him but he’s really tryna point out his flaws at da same time. Don’t let him fool u. He’s da same one who was tryna tell us Tatum was better. All of his takes will have an ulterior motive.

  28. i'm starting to think that minessota and Huston purposely want to get to the 6 seed hoping that Lakers are a 1st round exit like last year and would rather face san Antonio than okc in conference semifinals
