  1. We have to see more Trae Young and Anthony Davis before deciding. What are the chances both stay healthy? Did I hear expiring contract? Las Vegas again another franchise that no one who lives in the city will be able to afford to go see.

  2. What a depressing thought… losing one of the young bucks. I’m keeping the 8 discussed with AD and Trae on the cusp based on extensions.

  3. Idk man, choosing between bilal and champagnie feels like a setup because regardless of who we pick they still might not be the player we expect them to be. They both have the chance to be one of them ones coming off the bench in the wing position but the inconsistencies definitely show on offense. If/once this expansion situation goes through we're gonna have to make a decision sooner than later and be okay with who we choose.

  4. I would give up a pick next year if we get a guy with promise and hopefully immediate impact ie a back up big for depth and AD insurance. But also I feel like next years draft will have mave holdovers from this year. I think many players will stay in school for another year to potentially be drafted higher.

  5. I hate the expansion team nonsense because it affects teams that have worked in lottery for yrs and now we can’t protect their our own investment. It hurts OKC, spurs, Utah.. teams that drafted well and obtained draft capital

  6. I’d package a few assets to attempt to get back into the teens. Idk but I have a feeling someone like Mikal Brown may fall a bit just becuz of the talent in this yrs draft. I think he’d be a better long term solution.

  7. (Possibly) Unpopular take: if (and that's a big IF) they draft a lead guard (Peterson, Flemings, Acuff, etc.) with that Top 8 pick, then they could move JC onto the list and leave Trae off. Since they can only lose one player — and I feel that Trae would definitely be that one — leaving him off the list would allow them to keep ALL of their young nucleus together for the foreseeable future. You just don't spend a Top 8 pick on a lead guard for him to sit for X amount of years while Trae Young's value diminishes over time…

  8. Instead of trading back into the first round I'd rather them prioritize finding a veteran big bodied backup big. Yes we got AD but who knows how many games he'll play. Our main weakness is interior defense and toughness, I think a veteran big would fit that better than a rookie who hasn't developed physically yet.

  9. Magic Number to Lock In the Pick
Assuming tonight’s loss drops them to 16-52 with 14 games left:
    Clinching Bottom-4 (Guarantees Top-8 Pick)
    Magic number: 11
That’s any combination of Wizards losses + Utah wins totaling 11. For example:
    • Wizards lose 9 more + Utah wins 2 more
    • Wizards lose 7 more + Utah wins 4 more
    • Wizards lose 11 more + Utah wins 0
At their current pace (~77% loss rate for Washington, ~29% win rate for Utah), they’re on track for roughly 15 combined — so they should clinch with room to spare, likely within the next couple weeks.
Clinching Bottom-3 (Locks in 14% at No. 1)
    Magic number: 13
This one is tighter because Sacramento is only 2 wins ahead at 18-51. But the Kings have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league, so they might start picking up a few more wins, which helps Washington.
    The Short Version
With a 13-game losing streak and 14 games left, Washington really only needs to keep doing what they’re doing. Even winning 3-4 of their remaining games still gets them safely into the bottom 4. The pick is about as safe as it can be without being mathematically clinched yet.

  10. The way Tre Johnson has been playing recently … it would be him. Bilal is not going anywhere.

    Alex

    Kyshawn

    Bilal

    Riley

    Champagnie

    Draft Pick

    Trae

    AD

  11. I would keep champagnie over AD… because with ADs contract i dont think someone would take him. right?
