The Spurs have won 20 more games than projected… AND COUNTING! That's most valuable to me. Also, the gap between Wemby and SGA on defensive is 10X bigger than the gap between SGA and Wemby offensively. People are acting like Vic is averaging 12ppg or something.
At this point when they give SGA the MVP, they should just have him accept it laying down. And then the refs can call a foul on Adam Silver for getting too close to him, while Shai flops all over the place and fakes an injury.

If thereโs any team that is the benefactor of any sort of bias, it is and always will be teams like the Lakers.
Luka is top of the league in steals. Top of the league in charges drawn. The lakers defensive rating is better with him on the floor than off. He leads his team in steals, and top on the list in deflections. In isolation defense he is holding his opponents to less than .85 ppp.
If thatโs not playing on both sides of the ball I donโt know what is!

MVP should go to Luka. If Wemby sit, Spurs will still win, If SGA sit OKC will still win, if Brown sit Celtics will win etc. If Lebron sit Luka has to carry the Lakers,. the media is awful man. Luka is the clear MVP and this BS about his defense is just that. SGA is not better than Luka on defense, he just has a better defensive team around him. Luka is significantly better than SGA on offense. Luka is arguably the greatest offensive player of all time. No player has ever created as many points per game as Luka this season. Ever.

Also, keep saying Luka don't play defense.. He's just 1st in SPG, 60th in BPG, and just shy of 8 RPG (24th overall). Oh yeah, since the all-star break he's been one of the better one-on-one defenders, allowing just 0.844 points per possession (Ranking higher than OG Anunoby and Jaden McDaniels) all while guarding the 2nd most isolation possessions in the entire league! Since then he's also just holding his opponents to 38.7% FG in isolation scenarios, which is the 2nd-best defensive FG% among the top 15 players who defend the most isolations.. He's top 7 in charges drawn, and in the 95th percentile in total shots contested. All while leading the league by far in scoring and usage (including around 8 APG). Keep saying he's out of shape and doesn't play defense.. You sound like fools.

Luka also put together a performance against LAL that few expected. However, there's one problem with him โ he's completely incompetent in defense compared to SGA or Wemby.

Nikola Jokiฤ should be 4th because :
Team record: Denver is 4th.
. His PPG: 27.9 PPG (that's low, even Luka's worst version is 28 PPG).
. Westbrook had more triple-doubles but didn't win multiple MVPs.
So my ranking :
1- Luka (because HE IS BETTER THAN SGA, it's just that SGA and Wemby have a better team).
2- SGA (because of the better record)
3- Wemby (Proof of this: Example: A player averaging 20 PPG. Even if his team is 1st in the West, does that player deserve an MVP ? No.
Wemby is 14th in PPG with 24.5).
4- Nikola Jokiฤ.
MVP means best player: Luka is the best scorer in the NBA so MVP.
wemby took the spurs from a lottery team to potentially the best record in the NBA. SGA is #2 in the league in free throw attempts, wemby isn't in the top 10 and still averages 20+ a night while playing less minutes
