  1. Don’t do it Nashville! Run! The NBA knows how to ruin a city with their BLM kneeling commenting on shootings being divas about playing…

  2. Memphis did get $350 million from the state of TN for renovations to FedEx Forum recently but they have not released any plans for those renovations or new stadium. The money situation is a pretty crazy story honestly

  3. I'm so tired of people whining about this. We ALL know that Memphis is NOT nice! Its old with high crime. If people don't like it when someone says that then they should work to make the city better.

  4. I live between these 2 markets. Memphis has been stagnant for the last 25 years as well the rest of west TN. Middle TN and Nashville meanwhile has been growing like crazy.

  5. Brodie really seems accepting that it’s ok to turnover sports arenas and stadiums prematurely. I never hear him push back on the argument that these buildings have a thirty year shelf life.

  6. University of Memphis offered the Big 12 over $200 million dollars to let them join the Big 12 and got turned down. No love for Memphis.

  7. It's interesting how Lebron's comment gets so much traction when it comes to other teams and situations that don't concern him…

Like I can understand if he was there and played for them then cool but this guy is playing on the Lakers so why does his comments carry that much weight?…..

Okay let's just say the Grizzles move on over to Nashville that would mean a change for everything not just the name for obvious reasons…

    I don't know man….
I think LeBron is just trying to get his way like he is running the NBA right now…

  8. Vancouver can’t even keep their MLS franchise right now

So let’s keep that in mind when discussing corporate growth

They can’t find enough investment for the one non hockey American pro league franchise they do have

  9. Should not be commenting on re locating teams coming from a large market LA area. Bad look for the NBA. I don't think he would like it if people said the Lakers should move out of LA back to Minnesota. Nashville would be a good NBA city though.

  10. I laugh at the Memphis natives saying the team wouldn’t be supported here 3 million people live in Middle Tennessee compared to 1.7 in West Tennessee the markets aren’t close!

  11. The NBA should have never expanded to Vancouver back then.
Memphis has been a high crime city for as long as I can remember. And, that's a long time.

  12. Brodie, I'm a huge fan, and this is by no means a criticism, but LeBron discussing moving the team from Memphis to Nashville actually cuts deep because of the discrimination that had already been plaguing Memphis for quite some time. This is more than just a "I don't like City A, I'd love to see the team move to City B." Tennessee politicians have spent decades finding every which way to make Nashville (demographically more white american) more relevant while dismissing and outright ignoring the pleas of Memphis (predominantly Black communities) and their ongoing struggles. Memphis isn't as economically viable because the state has made it their mission to make it so.

LeBron James, as someone who used to be more outspoken and knowledgeable about these kinds of problems in the past, should have known this, and should have known that the rhetoric of taking away a profitable team from a city always clawing for funding to hand it to a nearby city who has been allowed to thrive.

  13. Alot of people don't know that New Orleans has a much smaller metro population than Memphis and it's losing more people. MEM 1.3 million (45th); NOLA 970 thousand (59th). NOLA (50th) is a slight larger TV market than MEM (51st)

  14. for a dude that has been traded 3 times, been spoiled in Miami after betraying his hometeam, then redeeming his hometeam, in Los Angeles just for the clout and has been professional since 2 years after 9/11 with no college experience, has to retire anytime.

  15. Vancouver to me was rushed in and was never given time to be prepared and organized. When David Stern awarded Vancouver a team, he should have given them three years instead of starting the following year after the announcement.

  16. If we all kowtowed to the players and where they want to play, there would be a dozen teams in Miami, a half dozen in SoCal, and token teams in NYC, Chicago, Dallas, and Las Vegas…Concerts pay the freight at Bridgestone, and that's why so much money gets spent there. So LBJ isn't wrong – NSH would be a wealthier, more solid market. But is that a reason to punish Memphis? And by the way, has anybody asked Nashville if they want the NBA?…Yeah. The Grizzlies should still be in Vancouver. One of many, many David Stern effups…We're all getting very tired of this musical teams shtick. LBJ is certainly entitled to his opinion, but we are also entitled not to care…

  17. I never heard Jordan complained like this. He's a true professional and successful businessman. No wonder he's much better than LeDone.

  18. The Reason Why LeBron Said This Because Memphis Is Not Safe, Memphis Is One Of The Most Dangerous Cities In America That’s Why He Said That.

  19. Hope LeBron doesn't retire and plays one more season, would love to watch Bron get booed the next time he plays the Grizz

  20. Their Football Team has more opposing fans showing up than the Home Fans. Most people in Nashville are from somewhere else. Memphis having an NBA team is a joke. They have the worst weakest fan base in Sports! Tennessee is not a Pro Sports State! Nashville is probably the most overrated city in America!
