I like the Nuggets, I do, and would not mind if they took the ring. But, it is hard to see them taking OKC, Spurs or Boston in a seven game series. And if Gordon can't stay healthy they have no chance.

Today's game against the Spurs will be telling. As a Spurs fan, Jamal Murray torched us in their last game and, as much as the Spurs are shrugging off opinions that experience doesn't matter, Denver is a team that's been there, done that. It will be a great test for the Spurs.

In November when the healthy starting lineup of JM, CB, CJ/PW, AG, and Joker were on the floor… Denver was ranked THIRD in defensive rating. The last few weeks they have been playing to get their game speed wind back. They all had lower body injuries. That is brutal for keeping your cardio up. Speaking from experience of multiple knee surgeries across both knees. You can't run, even really 'speed walk', you can't row, and you can't swim. So, upper body cardio… wheee… the most tedious crap on Earth… think 'hand bicycle' doing it as hard and as fast as you can to try and get 'winded'. Standing in a swimming pool windmilling your arms… 2 minutes on… 2 minutes off.. for an hour… yeah… they're in Denver… they're gonna need a minute. By the playoffs? AG and PWat's hamstrings have another week or two to recover and CB gets full speed wind back? Look out Western Conference.

A point that also gets missed is that the Nuggets aren't new to any of this. They have been a legitimate championship threat when healthy since 2020. The only team you can argue that's been better than them over the course of the decade are the Celtics who have been much healthier and play in the east
