  1. LeBron didn't say no Memphis because of vacationing…. He said the team should move to Nashville. This is not about the beauty or vacation value of the city! Yes, black people are everywhere… but there is a great population of black people in Memphis. Infrastructure or the lack there are in Memphis may be systemic. And if the players have a different lifestyle maybe they should see this as an opportunity to REMEMBER what the average lifestyle is like. I agree with Ryan's point of view.

  2. Memphis is a foundational black American city. FBAs push the culture of America. Without us the NBA will go the way of MLB. The NBA needs Memphis.

  3. I don't agree with you all but I respect y'all opinions. I just unsubsribed to this show. I respectfully wish this show well

  4. IT'S NOT BECAUSE HE SAID IT. IT'S WHO HE WAS AROUND AND SAID IT TO!! BE CLEAR BROTHER'S 🤷🏿‍♂️‼️

  5. This is the best take I've heard on this topic. You'll should educate Stephen A. Smith so he can get out of his feelings because LeBron said something!

  6. The problem is people are trying to get the Grizzlies to move to Nashville and steal Ja for cheap. This has nothing to do with a damn hotel. Nashville is over crowded and is always under construction. The Grizzlies as of right now have not been a winning team in a few years. The attendance is down bad as well. The NBA to me honestly has gone down. They literally travel and carry the ball the entire game. SGA is the push off king and gets rewarded with free throws. They have even gone so far to have mid season tournaments to make it more appealing. Don't worry Ja is done at the Grizzlies and the league will get some good ratings from his career resurrection in Miami.

  7. Nobody is talking about vacation. We’re talking about doing what you get paid millions of dollars to do. Play a basketball game. No one is asking dude to move to Memphis. Do your job and go home. It just shows how bougie these fools have gotten to think a team is supposed to move cause you don’t enjoy your hotel or what ever else. Lastly MJ played in Memphis in his 40’s with Washington never heard a peep unlike crybaby LeBron 😢

  8. I was very disappointed by this conversation because they often get it right…..their conversation was very tone deaf and did not address the racial undertones of what LeBron said, the title of the episode should have been Leave LeBron Alone. I sometimes wonder why Channing is on here, he needs to go start a podcast with Shady McCoy because they are too of the most unaware brothers in podcasting today.

  9. Just like any other job that requires travel, professional athletes play wherever the schedule takes them, regardless of preference. Of course there will be places you may not enjoy, but the expectation remains the same: show up, do your job, and then get the hell on. You are not here in Memphis on vacation. You are here to WORK! Stop being soft, bougie, and whiny! Do your job and leave! Simple

  10. I was telling someone from Memphis some time ago after he posed a question about the city getting the All-Star Game.

I emphatically told him hell no! The main reason was hotel accommodations and all the amenities that comes with hosting a major event such as that.

Where would major dignitaries such as: Jay Z, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, David Beckham, President Obama and people of that status, stay at?

Hampton Inn, Red Roof Inn, Motel 6. Really!😂😂

  11. The outrage for LeBron James is ridiculous! How are folks "outraged" that LeBron doesn't like playing in Memphis like he doesn't watch the news (i.e. Young Dolph vs Yo Gotti, top-10 murder capital, and Ja Morant fake thug life image)

  12. LeBron spends one night in Memphis a few times per season. To disparage the accomodations is just ridiculous. He's an entertainer and if doctors, lawyers, teachers, firefighters, police officers and other non-entertainment professionals can live in Memphis, then surely spending one night there to entertain does not detract from his humanity, does it?

  13. Every few months we're back here — another relocation rumor, another take from people who don't try to understand the context of the city. LeBron's hotel preference isn't the story. The story is that Memphis has been systematically underfunded and undervalued while still functioning as a tri-state economic engine. No commuter tax on the thousands coming in daily from Mississippi and Arkansas. State investment consistently flowing to Nashville while Memphis carries the regional load without the regional support. And yes, Memphis has one of the highest crime rates in the country — but the people of Memphis don't want that. You know what happened in 2024 when Memphis voters approved gun-control measures amid a spike in gun violence? The state responded by threatening to cut over $75 million in sales tax revenue to the city as punishment. This isn't a city that failed — it's a city that's been set up to struggle and then blamed for struggling.

What never gets mentioned is that Memphis has a thriving Black middle class and a legacy of Black economic success that the "popular" cities people love to visit simply don't have. Memphis ranks among the top cities in the country for Black-owned businesses as a percentage of all firms, has one of the only Black-owned banks in America operating since 1946, and sits in a region where Black homeownership rates exceed what you'll find in New York, LA, and Chicago — cities with large Black populations but some of the widest racial homeownership gaps in the country. Memphis represents something different: a place where Black people have built equity, institutions, and a real middle class. So when the conversation turns to moving the Grizzlies to a whiter, shinier city because someone prefers the nightlife, you should ask why. Because that's not growth — that's the same story this country has been telling Black communities for a hundred years.

And no, I don't think it's a coincidence that Stephen A. Smith was just on air talking trash about Memphis, and now the most popular player in the NBA is doing the same thing. When the same narrative keeps getting amplified by the biggest voices in the sport, that's not organic conversation — that's a pattern. And it's worth asking who benefits from that pattern.

  14. Nashville has taken plenty of resources from Memphis and moved them east. Tennessee is a super republican majority. They want the entire state from west to east. But Memphis stands in the way. Memphis is looked upon as the red headed step child. As a memphian, I love this city. Ain’t no city in America like Memphis. Cause we whoop tricks in Memphis 😂

  15. He didn’t just say he doesn’t like playing in Memphis, he said they need to move the team to Nashville. And when it’s LeBron saying that people notice. Do he not know how many people it will effect financial!

  16. Thank you all, you all hit the nail on the head! I don’t know what these other platforms are on with this topic. However, we can always count on you all to get it right. THANK YOU! Folks, leave LeBron alone…it’s not that serious.

  17. When DIVAS Cry …. The Doves Will Fly…. Thanks for you Guys for thinking "WE" dumb to the GAME … Mane.

  18. OK Ryan Clark we know how you is when it comes to your boss you’re gonna take up for your boss now go ahead and talk negative about LeBron James because your boss taught negative about LeBron James

  19. Memphis wasn't even the original city it was Vancouver. So I don't know how anyone can be made at Lebron for saying the team should move to Nashville when that same team moved from Vancouver to Memphis.

  20. Y'all missing the point it's not about the hotel talk it's about him throwing his weight about the Grizzlies moving to Nashville….he should be smart enough to know we loved the Grizzlies we the Grizzlies and it's a huge financial powerhouse here

  21. I'ma Nashvillian..it was just a opinion to me..no issue..at All on my end..Shoutout and God Bless You Lebron James…💯🙏🏾.. Shoutout and God Bless Memphis Tn

  22. Memphis is a $ hole city. I drive through Memphis all the time from Texas. Through Little Rock then right over to Memphis. I am black and I would never again stop in that city at that Target right behind Chick Filet. My friend last year had to stay in a hotel with her daughter. Woke up and her BMW was stolen right out the parking lot. My son was there working. I told him NOT to go to Memphis. Woke up and all his tools were missing from his truck. We know who took that car and my sons tools. So what Memphis is an all black city. It's still a $hity city. I see people in Dallas who move to this area because they complain Memphis is not safe for their children. Why get mad at LeBron for speaking his truth and we have heard other players speak negative about Memphis. I had a childhood friend who was a cop in Memphis and he told me he had to get out of there and took a job in Mississippi.

  23. RC and crew, what's got the city upset is not what he's saying about Memphis, it's the fact that he's saying the NBA should move the Grizzlies to Nashville… What because of the visiting team's choice of hotel??? Let them choose to stay at the Peabody then… You're here for one night or two nights max.. The owner has already said he has no interest in selling or moving the team… So in the words of somebody else I can't stand, who put it so eloquently, shut up and dribble…..

  24. The problem is the athlete believes their opinion speaks for the masses. Many people visit Memphis every year, Arkansas, every year. Yes, these cities may not be sexy to the pro athlete, but for the everyday person, these are vacations.

  25. Plenty of people vacation in Arkansas. Hot Springs is a vacation destination. People vacation in Memphis as well. It’s all about what you’re looking for. If you’re not familiar with the area, you wouldn’t know.

  26. Memphis is a violent city and many arhletes speak on not liking it and staying in their rooms when in Memphis.

  27. Leave it to the pivot to completely miss the point, just to protect LeBron! If you don’t see the anti blackness if lebrons statements and the company he said those anti -black comments within. Then you are choosing not to see how this whole situation is problematic.

By the way Milwaukee is a black city as well! Ryan you are an ignorant fool for not knowing that!!

  28. This is literally social media, YouTube channels, podcasts, etc sensationalizing topics because they need clickbait topics for their audience. I guess this is better than them fabricating stories. Attention (clicks, likes, etc) is the new currency!
