THESE Spurs 1st Round Picks Are Wilding!?

THESE Spurs 1st Round Picks Are Wilding!?

The San Antonio Spurs are heading into the playoffs soon but… what should they do with their 1st round pick in June? With a young core of Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper, this pick could round out the next Spurs dynasty! Do they go best player available? Draft for fit? Or make a surprise move nobody sees coming? Or… all of the above!!

  1. Honestly, with how late a pick we are getting, I really have no idea and full trust in MATFO to make a good call on who to grab. Probably a crapshoot no matter what, after 3 years of what I considered sure-fire picks, who really surpassed expectations, so it's a bit different. Even if we have a miss, I'm fine.

  2. Maybe I grew up watching the Tim Duncan spurs, but 6'8 seems undersized at PF. We need someone who can get boards while wemby does wemby things

  3. If cam falls to our draft pick, I would not pass him up. Too much talent. But yes I also went to Baylor and still love sochan.

  4. Pathetic Spurs GM Brian Wrong reached for Vassell, Primo, and many others since 2019. But does he reach for Max Raynaud? Dreamers: the glory days of Pop-Buford are over.

  5. Center Aday Mara 7'3 255 Michigan, PF Chris Cenac Jr 6'11 240 Houston, F Rueben Chinyelu 6'10 265 Florida or C Patrick Ngongba II 6'11 250 Duke.

  6. I love the idea of drafting a senior under Dan Hurley who won back to back championships and made the championship 3x and played with Castle. Dan Hurley is cementing himself as the GOAT NCAAM coach. Let's draft well coached winners

  7. 10:22 "They have a chance to tie the 2nd most wins ever by a Spurs team"
Yes, and that's what Wemby said it was his "revenge" for his rookie year W/L ratio!
And he can do that in his 3rd year! And the 2nd Castle Year! With a young team…. Crazy!

  8. Karim Lopez or Cameron Carr would be good picks, as both fit the Spurs' play style. Joshua Jefferson and Koa Peat would be less exciting.

Jayden Quaintance has a lot of defensive talent, but I'd rather have Morez Johnson, Jr. from Michigan. Less of a health risk with more shooting touch.

Amari Allen would be a nice pick, too.

Zuby Ejiofor was giving UConn that work in the Big East this year, man. He's a very good college player.

  9. Quintance if fall get him may be injury prone high risk high reward
    1) Priority get big that play 5 and 4 very good reb can make some 2nd chance points when wemby shooting 3pts
    2) 3pt shooter

  10. I feel if we can pick up a free agent that's willing to come over now that we are a legitimate championship team that is a tall forward. That can shoot the ball and spread the court. And it seems to be right now, Guards are a plethora, so maybe we need to pick up another guard, just incase we lose one of our primary gaurds. When it comes time to the big contracts and that's around the corner.

  11. My ultimate hope: Hawks have been losing past two games, and I hope they continue that way. Then I hope other teams win more so that Hawks becomes 7th or 8th seed. Lose on in Play-In games and we have another 14th pick, which jumps up to top 4 pick! Of course, if this ever happens, there will be riot among NBA fans 🤣😂But hey, a man can dream, right?

  12. I wouldn’t go near Quaintance. He was awesome but he had a major knee injury. I think it was an ACL tear so I think his athleticism will be limited. I wouldn’t go there.

Here’s the list of guys I would like to see as Spurs. Any four from this list of forwards and centers would be awesome adds:

Karim Lopez, Thomas Haugh, Koa Peat, Morentz Johnson, Tarris Reed Jr, Dailyn Swain, Dame Sarr, Hannes Steinbach, Josh Jefferson, Allen Graves, Zuby Ojiofor, Trevon Brazille, Baba Miller, Henri Veesar, or Chris Cenac.

  13. Allen Graves is currently rising. He shouldn't be selected in the first round but he appears now in several mock drafts around 25th pick (24th in tankathlon).
He is definitely the right guy for the Spurs.
Unfortunately OKC will select before us…

  14. I would be happy with Karim Lopez.

Hannes Steinbach would also be a great get.

Yaxel won’t slide that far, most likely, but would be amazing if he did.

  15. My favorite player coming out is Yaxel Lendeborg but I think he is going to be a lottery pick and will be long gone before the Spurs pick at #20.

Alex Karaban reminds me too much of Harrison Barnes. He’s a winner with a winning mindset and high IQ guy but he’s not uber athletic and we need freakish athletes at every position. Big guys with athleticism that rivals Carter Bryant, Steph Castle or even Dylan Harper.

OKC has tons of picks and you can bet they’re going after as many freakish athletes as possible so we need these awesome athletes too to continue matching up well with them.

  16. Need a pf first so #20 pick morez johnson better than quiantance( injury prone, limited shooting) #35 alex caraban combine #42 & #44 with a trade package for a veteran sf/pf

  17. st johns made the sweet 16, were one of the best teams in the big 10, and knocked out darryn peterson and the kansas jayhawks and wouldve beat #1 seeded duke and cameron boozer if the refs werent obviously favouring duke. zuby at like 40 is such great value

  18. No shade to Jayden, but if we pick at 20ish and Chris Cenac Jr is still on the board, I would be disappointed.

  19. My last mock

    1 – G/F Dailyn Swain
    2 – G/F Alex Karaban
    2 – F/C Tarris Reed Jr
    2 – F/C Baba Miller

  20. Just letting this hang out here. But Joshua Jefferson to fill the spurs needs at PF may or may not be a primo pick.

  21. Hello TSR. UH HUM. I happened to mention Jayden Quaintance on your channel many times, including yesterday. But, I never get credit. I'll tell you about JQ. He joined Ariz State and rupture his knee. He had total knee reconstruction and missed the whole season. He then transferred to Kentucky, where he only played a few games and tore his ACL. He went back to surgery and missed all of this season. He was projected to go top 3 lottery and still projected to go lottery, even though he had devastating injuries and rarely played any minutes in 2 years. That's how good he is… or was. I would compare him to Chris Webber. He can rebound, block shots, and post up around the rim. He's a beast of the boards. I've never seen his mid range or perimeter game. But, it's his inside game that is downright monster. He's a huge risk for some teams who can't afford risk. Other teams like OKC, would be a big gamble, but big reward if he is healthy. If not, then it's a wasted pick and move on. Shades of Greg Oden? or Joel Embiid? Nobody knows. He a very intelligent player, friendly, easy to get along in the lockerroom. His favorite past time is chess. He loves chess and reading. The guy is intelligent. So in that regard, he's not gangster or anything. In fact, the opposite. Love this guy, if he pans out for the Spurs. I wouldn't be upset and I imagine, the other teams would be very disappointed and upset, if he landed on the Spurs at the 20th pick.
