Is this means Denver can rest some guys in second round ?
The curse that follows all bench players—those who are backups to the starting five—is that you never really know if one of them might actually be a better option than a starter. Who can guarantee that, for example, Curtis Jones wouldn’t be better than CB, or a better option than THJ? Or that David Roddy wouldn’t be better than PWat, or that Julian Strawther could be a better option than Cam?
Who knows—if Donovan Mitchell had stayed with the Denver Nuggets, maybe he would have had limited minutes like Jalen Pickett or Julian, or in the worst case, like DaRon Holmes II or Zeke Nnaji.
We saw in today’s game and in the game against Oklahoma City Thunder that there are definitely very good players on the bench whose potential we didn’t know about simply because they didn’t get the chance to show what they can do.
At first I wanted the 3 seed to delay seeing OKC but shit – maybe it would've been better to face them as early and healthy as possible, esp after an "easier" first round opponent.
Oh well who cares – we got this 💪 🏆
