It's been like this since 1987, til the pistons, won the chip in 89. The 2004 pistons, get discredited, because although they beat the Lakers in 5, they would rather talk about Kobe, Shaq, and the soap opera, they had. For me, living through the phantom foul in 88, when it comes to the Pistons or any Detroit team, the team has to win the championship, outright. No excuses, win the whole thing. Don't let the refs , decide the game. This pistons team, has a great chance to piss off, every national media member, like they did in 2004. And, I'm all for it.
I know Rico has to play devils advocate for good radio, but there is no logic that can defend the pistons being worse odds than the Knicks. We swept the Knicks in the regular season with their starters in twice, and we went toe to toe with them last year in the PLAYOFFS and we've only gotten better since. We've beaten every team there is to beat in the east, and yet national media thinks we need to prove it? I don't want to hear any bullshit about playoffs being different than the regular season, the teams that win games, win games. The pistons have done nothing but win games. Absolutely ridiculous that these guys are finally talking about the pistons and all it took was Mark Ryan asking a fair question and of course Rico has to sit with his thumb up his ass and talk about some bull.

The national media doesn't watch Pistons games. They focus entirely on their offense and that the Pistons can't shoot. They don't realize that the Pistons have such good defense, that they kill their opponent's offense. That's how they've won all their games. How good your offense is doesn't matter against the Pistons. The only team the Pistons can't beat is the Spurs. I'd pick them against every other team.
This is why I donât watch ESPN sports talk anymore and why do radio local media care what national media says Mike along with Rico and everybody in that studio doubted the Pistons when they were one of the most dominant teams all year long it doesnât help when your own local fan base on the radio doesnât believe in you
Winning 60 games was an incredible achievement, but in the playoffs other teams will begin to match their defensive intensity. The better shooting team will then have the edge. Unfortunately, Cleveland and Boston are loaded with shooters. I do think the Pistons' would beat anyone else in the East though.

im 53 years old.. ihave been watching the pistons since 1987…the pistons have nver been been picked to come out of the east..hear is my memory…1988..the celtics were picked…1989…the cavs were picked…..1990..the bulls were picked…2004…the pacers were picked…2005…the pacers were picked…all those years it was us that went to the finals…i repeat since i have been watching the pistons ..they have never been picked to come out of the east…
