I love Lively as a player, he’s the big that the Mavs need, but he’s got to get better at two things shooting threes and staying on the court
trade lively now, he can't score and he's not trying to improve, he still can't score down low that's the least you can do when you can't shoot threes. He's a good defender but still gets cooked in some games, i wouldn't be as concerned about his injuries if he wasn't so overrated trade him now while he still has some value two frps is good enough for me. we should draft henri vesaar at 30 to replace him he can shoot score down low has a floater and rebounds and defends well. Oh that's another thing lively isn't good at he can't rebound, the rim rolling double down is getting old now we don't have luka to make them look better than they are anymore

Trading Gafford has to be a priority this offseason. Let Cisse eat his minutes, draft a big at 30, and bring back Bagley for the front court. Need to get some value with a mid first rounder or young player.
I'd offer 3 for 30, basically the cost of a top 10 lottery pick, and the 3rd year is an option. If he's still injured he can be salary filler to a tanking team that has someone the Mavs want.
Just send Lively out to LA with Luka and pair him with Hayes, who is leading the league in field goal percentage. Lively will do just fine.
I tried to tell you guys in March of 2024 he'd retire before playing 70 games a season.
Best of luck to him, but every scouting report had him as a perpetually-injured player, and Nico chose not to listen.
Yet another top pick absolutely wasted.
It would be malpractice to think lively is the starting center next season. He did not even start when the Mavs went to the finals.

The training staff that botched this injury deserved to be fired.
Imo i think we can still keep lively he's still young it's not like he's in his mid/ late 20's and his contract isn't that big either. However We should trade gafford for a 7footer. I noticed we don't have a 7'+ big man apart from lively and in today's game a 6'10/ 6'11 big man aint gonna cut it teams like spurs or denver can exploit that weakness. This move is a temporary bandage solution in case lively never gets healthy. Imo they could trade gafford for a 1st round pick this year if we could get someone like a Mara + the top 10 draft pick this year that is a steal for the mavs and our roster got younger too.
So basically we got younger, cleared some cap space, and got bigger/ taller and in case lively never does live up to the expectations because of health, we can simply just trade him or let him go in the future and Mara is gonna be our new starting center in 5 years time.
I know a team that once took in an injury prone big in exchange for picks and young players. They also happen to have Luka. So…. maybe? xD
Unfortunately with how injury prone Lively is, he is not a trade asset anymore but more a trade filler.
The number 1 pick for Lively and our 1st that's all if we are in the top 6 if he want to much money

If we drop out of the top 8 of this draft, Im taking Hannes Steinbach. He would be great with or without Lively because he can shoot and it gives you the freedom to move Gafford or Lively if we choose. Also there are some nice guards on the free agent market.

at this point Id rather have Cason Wallace… or Gradey Dick, Keyonte George , Jaime Jaquez Jr. , any active rotation player from that draft that was in Mavs range.. its that simple
