The Oklahoma City (OKC) Thunder once again head into the 2026 NBA Playoffs with the best record in basketball. With 64 wins over the regular season campaign, this Thunder team has taken a step back from their last year, in which they won 68 games and the 2025 NBA Finals, over Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers…or HAVE they? Maybe a couple more L’s on paper, but this team has several factors that last year’s title winning team did not boast. Today, Gabriel Ebersole compares and contrasts the 2025-26 OKC Thunder to the 2024-25 OKC Thunder, highlighting Ajay Mitchell’s growth, the success of Chet Holmgren-Isaiah Hartenstein double big, and MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) ‘s improved playmaking. With the playoff run right on the horizon, a dominant showing should put this year’s OKC Thunder above the former in the all-time hierarchy.

  1. I cant tell you how proud I am to call this team, "ours". Ive been trying to not think about when contracts come up, because we will lose players, but until then THESE are OUR guys!
    THUNDER4LIFE!

  2. Adding Mitchell and McCain without question makes this team better but that won't really be as evident until the playoffs start. Dort, Wallace and Joe will struggle against offensively once the postseason starts just like last year but Mitchell and McCain can consistently score on all three levels so teams won't be able to tee off as much on us on defense. If this OKC team had been healthy all year they would have made a push at 74 wins no question.

  3. Guy's subscribing is easier than winning the NBA finals and we're expecting OKC to repeat you gotta subscribe.

  4. Hard to compare, but yet …so much the same. Exciting runs by both-great to see the growth of these good young players

  5. Someone needs to REMIND EVERYONE that Shai sat out 26 or so 4th quarters!!! What would our stats look like if he, & others, HAD PLAYED!
