Bold prediction: I’m only 38 minutes in, but I predict Matthew will be unpersuaded by Kevin O’Connor’s case for Wemby MVP.
To me, Castle is an All NBA 1st team because of his enormous defensive impact and his formidable versatile skillset offensively and because he is largely responsible for 62 wins, the second best record in the league. Castle is also Most improved player of the year. I would put him in the 3rd position for Defensive player of the year. I would also put him in the top 12 in the MVP race. He is the player who resembles the most MVP Derrick Rose in terms of skills and behavior, so get ready to have to choose, potentially, between Victor and Stephon for MVP next year. Castle has led the Spurs as much as Vic has this year.

Jokic is overrated. Defense win championship. He win one championship against a short Miami then what… 3 Times MVP, almost 4 and play only one final. Gordon is not healthy enough, Watson too. If the Blazers are only 1-3 against the Spurs and Wemby wasn’t even playing in those games, then I expect the Spurs to sweep or beat them in 5 games. They’re not beating Wemby and those Spurs. Hell no. I want an angry Wemby, so he goes off again.😂
Puzzled by the decision to not go all out to beat the Nuggets in game 82. Spurs intentionally put the Nuggets on their side of the bracket so they'd have to go through both Denver and OKC. No team serious about winning a chip would do that. I like to assume teams aren't stupid. My theory? The Spurs realize they're well ahead of schedule They want to get as deep as they can in the playoffs but are prioritizing getting playoff experience v the best competition. If that's your goal and you're looking forward, why not test yourself v Denver and possibly OKC? Playoff lessons for a team that's never played a single playoff game that could pay off in coming years. I'm trying to make that apparently stupid and arrogant decision make sense. Haven't heard a take that makes more sense than this one.
