The Truth About the 65-Game Rule, Load Management, NIL & Athlete Ownership | SOTG Ep. 1

Welcome to State of the Game. In the debut episode – Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Fred VanVleet, David Kelly and Kenny Beecham sit down for an unfiltered conversation about the biggest issues facing basketball today. From the controversial 65-game rule and the rise of load management to the impact of NIL on the sport, the second apron, the role of analytics, the death of dynasties and whether athletes should have a seat at the ownership table, nothing is off-limits.

Featuring voices who have lived the game at the highest level, this is the conversation the NBA needs to hear.

  1. all pretty well spoken, especially Iguodala. I didn't know how knowledgeable he was on economics and systemic issues

  2. He said JT should’ve been an MVP already, I really wanna know what year he’s talking about. Just because a player may be underrated for the greatness they are doesn’t mean they can just get an MVP 😭

  3. W video, freddy's so insufferable though lol America is getting their asses kicked by the Euro model right now and I think you should look at how to fix that instead of saying "we still have the best players" when there aint an American in the top 5

  4. 19:42 Fred me good and important point here. Everybody is on the same page about what we need but we aren't paying the people who are actually making the grassroot level change. Those YMCAs and Park districts need to be funded and filled with trainers and people who actually care, and pay them how much they care

  5. Shout-out to how much Kenny has developed. He's so comfortable with interviews now and navigating a conversation where you have other 4 people involved.

  6. Great conversation between legends in the industry. Hope to see more of this stuff

  7. honestly the bit i probably enjoyed the most was the little bit of political talk toward the end there, hope that isn't just a one time thing

  8. As much as I hate and don't respect VanVleet, calling Popovich a bitch and saying fuck the Spurs for no reason and always hating on the Spurs with negativity in the media with his weird hating ass… imma watch this for my favorite guys in sports media and skip every time he talks. Can't wait to watch more. Kenny is on his way up.

  9. Bro this is fucking fantasic! Intelligent conversation on interesting (NBA related) topics , it's honestly so refreshing!
Definitely room for improvement regarding audio but this was great. Shoutout to you, Kenny

  10. Kenny dont even drink so having him do an alcohol ad is insane as hell shouldve called in mike or dmills to handle that😂

  11. The all star break went from a celebration of the game to a 4 day billboard for the NBA’s business partners. It’s just not about basketball anymore

  12. This might sound like hate but I love how when Kenny gets around nba players or respected analysts he always lets them know he knows ball. Feel like a lot of guys are scared to show their knowledge in interviews
