It is absolutely not realistic. Myers is making easy money as a consultant. Connelly has a contract that would require a lot to happen for him to get out of, and then it would cost a ton. Then, on top of all that, it takes at least 6 months to really plan a draft. That is pushing it too. So, whoever they get as GM is going to have to rely on the research that Finley and Riccardi have already done.
Dallas should have fired Nico last summer. Hell, they should have fired Nico one month after the trade. It was just a dumb trade. You really need a good year to plan for a draft. How the hell is someone going to come into Dallas and do a comprehensive draft in basically 45 days?
Tim Connley has a better resume of his than Myers as Conley created that Nuggets championship core from the ground up and then went to Minnesota to make another team to beat them in 7 games.
Myers is a red flag as his time as a GM is overshadowed by big elephants in the room from Steph Curry's resume(didn't draft him), Joe Lacob(buisiness savey owner who actually pays attention to his franchise), and Jerry West(the big executive who basically built the splash bros Warriors by denying a Klay trade for Kevin Love back then and recruiting Igoudala, Kevin Durant, etc. To make said Dynasty).
Without West the guy basically chose to draft Wiseman with a top 3 pick. A CENTER in a Kerr run offense that barely uses centers. Enabled Draymond's antics etc. Conley made mistakes trading 5FRPs for Golbert and drafting Dillingham with an 8th pick but he still made a championship team with the Nuggets and got the Wolves to 2 straight WCF runs.
Still fantasy to get him and I rather have Riccardi or Finley but I understand the Conley pursuit.

Tim Conelly – Rudy Gobert was a horrible trade. He also had several other poor ones. Let's not get him. He can't possibly figure out this draft that quickly. Plus is under contract and unless they “cut” him, it's a waste of time to think about this.
