  1. Al said he “surprised himself”… 👀

Did you expect him to go OFF like that in the 4th??

And how much did Steph + Draymond’s confidence matter there?

    👇 Let’s hear it DubNation

  2. 00:00 Al, is this the kind of game that you had in mind when you signed with the Warriors?
00:17 AL HORFORD, POSTGAME GSW-LAC: I don't know about the Play-in, but the type — but the type of intensity in a meaningful game like this, yes. And then me being able to help our group and be there in those moments, so I'm very grateful for that opportunity.
00:36 Can you describe what Draymond did defensively down the stretch against Kawhi and just how difficult — ?
00:42 Well, I mean, we want to highlight the end, which is great, but like just all game, kind of what he did, it was an unbelievable job being that disciplined and a guy that's been playing so well. A year like Kawhi, Kawhi has been dominant and Draymond taking on that challenge and getting stop after stop. And that steal there at the end, near half court, I mean, it takes a lot because, as a defender, you don't want to get out of position, but that just goes to the grit of Draymond and how smart he is and how he's thinking just ahead of it. And he was able to make that play. And just very impressed with him and just the continued efforts because he didn't waver. He just continued to get a stop, get a stop, stop after stop. And it just became draining for them, I feel like.
01:37 Al, this is your first time having Steph on your side in a game like this. What was that like?
01:42 Man, that was — that was great. It's, you don't like to be on those other sides when he does what he does, but just I mean, just as clutch as a players you can find. Really embraces this moment. Just, I know he puts that fear on opposing teams. That's just the reality and when he has the ball, he's gonna — and then he gets those looks, it's gonna make you pay, so it's pretty special and I catch myself just watching him when I'm out there playing just because it still impresses me at the level that he's able to do it.
02:28 When you guys are playing from behind almost the entire game, what does it do for your confidence knowing that you have that (inaudible)?
02:35 Well, it gives us life, but I think we just continue to stay within the game plan. But a lot of games in this season, when you look at some of our games when he was out, I feel like we were right in games and we just didn't have that closer. We didn't have that guy that can kind of take us over the top and and that's what he does, so he did it tonight.
02:59 Al, right here. Al, talk about as far as building upon this monumental win going into the next level.
03:07 Yeah, I mean, it's gonna be another challenge, a Phoenix team that's a really good team and they're all healthy now, but for us is recover, do everything we need to do and start looking into playing them. We know it's gonna be a big challenge, but at this point I feel like we're just, we're playing pretty free out here, so we're gonna go out there and just let it rip.
03:36 Al in your first answer, you referred to the intensity of a meaningful game and yesterday Steve acknowledged it doesn't feel like he had — the Warriors had played a meaningful game almost all year.
    03:46 Mm-hmm.
03:47 Given just the way things happened, how difficult is that to — it's not like you built up to this, in that sense of intensity. How difficult is it to sort of flip that switch in a game like this and what does it mean to not only have you, who've been through it, come through, but Brandin and Gui and pretty much everybody who played.
04:04 Yeah, very impressed. Now that you highlight Brandin and Gui, with their composure and how they came out and responded and how solid they were, but it's not easy when you don't play these type of games and at this level and at the beginning for me, it took me a little bit, just to kind of find anything or get it going. And now, ultimately, these are the games that you want to be a part of and that you want to play in. And I just love that challenge, the toughness of the game, not only the physicality, but the mental game within the game. There's a lot that goes into it and these are the type of games that I just enjoy. And for us, it was a matter of wills tonight. And it was just nice to get that type of game to start with. And we know that Phoenix is gonna be no different. It's gonna be a battle as well.
05:03 Al, as a veteran, as a champion yourself, how do you balance enjoying this moment so much and then turn the page to Phoenix? When does the attention fully turn towards Phoenix?
05:13 Yeah, I mean, the attention will turn to Phoenix probably in a couple hours, I would say. Right now, we're kind of, we're happy about it, but we have to turn it quickly. We understand that we're still in a position, that we're still fighting to get into the playoffs and this is a good opportunity that we're getting, but we can't dwell on this too long.
05:35 Al, you mentioned being impressed with what Steph Curry was doing at the age that he's doing it and you're Year 19 in the league.
    05:44 Mm-hmm.
05:45 4-of-4 from threes in that final frame.
    05:48 Mm-hmm.
05:48 Did you eat your Wheaties or what's sort of fueling that for you?
05:53 Yeah for me, I just gotta, I gotta give the glory to the Lord on that because on this whole season for me — because it's been a challenge in different ways with injuries and with things with the team. And this game wasn't going quite like I expected it at the beginning. I had some good looks early on and I tell you probably those last two looks that I shot, I didn't know what was gonna happen, so I shot them. I shot them with confidence and and then they went down. So for me, it was really just staying with the process and continuing to work and being prepared for it. And Steph was in my ear, Draymond was in my ear the whole time, giving me that confidence and letting me know that I do that. That's all that I'm capable of and for me, that was a special moment that I shared with them there and with our season on the line. It was pretty fitting.
06:52 Al, to follow up on exactly that, you played in some gigantic games throughout your career, but did you surprise yourself even a little bit tonight, because you haven't really played in the last month, basically, aside from a couple games and then you hit all the shots you did late?
07:09 Yeah, I definitely did, if I'm being completely honest. And also just the coach talked about it in the locker room. Just we've all won a lot of special games, but this game for us felt very special. It tested us as a team and for us to be able to come on top was really good. And now, I just, our whole goal is just to build on this. We have an opportunity on Friday in a — against a very tough team, but we have an opportunity and that's all you can ask for at this point.
07:46 You said Steph and Draymond were your ear. What exactly were they telling you?
07:51 Just giving me confidence. Steph, like I said, he said, it's what you do. And just word of confidence and Draymond happy for me. And then — and it's reciprocated when he's on the defensive end and he's doing what he does and and making winning plays for us, so at that moment, we're all just trying to make winning plays to win the game because that's what it comes down to.

  3. The challenge is the referees, not allowing those antics non calls, allowing Steph GP2 etc. Don’t allow that nonsense plays to literally injury players.
Warriors lost alot of games by 1 point!
I hope they realize that people want to see greatness in the playoffs and finals. High level, level up games. Not this I’m going to hurt you so we can win 1 more game.

  4. Yeeeesss, finally someone says "Glory to the Lord"….Always the winning attitude!!…not just blessed, but blessed by the Heavenly Best!!

  5. It's fascinating to hear how well Steph and Draymond understand that the teamwork aspect of the whole thing is so critical.

  6. This team is a crumbling dynasty, they stink without an aging Curry. You are what your record says you are.8 games below .500.Better just tank for a chance at a high lottery pick.
