I THINK it did touch the rim. Watching it really slow, it looks like it very slightly changes direction and both centers were fighting for position, but they both still seemed a little surprised by where it bounced. I could be wrong and maybe we'll get a video with a few more frames or a different angle to be sure.

Refs controlled the game from the start. Got Denver to the line and they made them. That was the difference in the game.
