Nick: NBA season finale is a FARCE, Spurs’ CATASTROPHIC mistake, Are they in trouble? | FTF
The NBA regular season has ended, with over 160 players resting or out due to injury/illness. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes ask if this is a bad look for NBA, and if the San Antonio Spurs hurt their title chances by letting the Denver Nuggets clinch the 3-seed. Plus, they discuss Doc Rivers stepping down as the Milwaukee Bucks’ HC and ask what’s next for Giannis Antetokounmpo. They also discuss the Houston Rockets and Kevin Durant being heavy favorites over LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs.

8:50 brou don’t be playin wit that coffee 😭😭
I just think this entire conversation is disingenuous and being forced by gambling companies. So now a fan can’t understand why in a league where players are getting hurt unprecedented levels rest players when there it’s no longer beneficial. Fans had an issues years ago with the resting and they changed the award game qualification threshold, we say how that worked out. Let’s just be honest about what is happening.
Just to pile on to what Brou is saying…I'd take Tari Eason over the rest of the Lakers as well.
I build resiliance, not resistance. If my body is resistant – that doesnt help, unless sports are a virus….
Words are hard, I know…
The Spurs mistake would be to avoid playing the best and then call them selves champs.
They didn't build a Super Team, nor have any NBA superstar who is a "lock" for the HOF.
Let that sinkin before you know this.
SPURS 4 CELTICS 2 in the 2026 Finals.
Wanna bet against it? Go….
Playing basketball in the NBA has become a side hustle for superstar podcasters.
Only 1 team can win the championship. The purpose of sports is supposed to be entertainment. If the stars don't play, is it entertaining?
We the people love The Gentleman 😆🎹
Im from kc i root for okc thunder lol im not a bandwagon i been a fan since i was like 11😂
It’s like this video was made for me. I’m not an NBA fan, I’ve been to 10 games in my life… and I’ve yet to see a star play. They take the day off. Idk if there are too many games and it’s needs to be reduced… but I don’t go to preseason NFL games because I don’t care to watch the back ups… and unfortunately going to an NBA game there’s like a 25% chance the star isn’t there.
I'm from san Antonio. I assume wemby really did have a sore rib, so the coach wanted him to rest.
Why dont teams practice?
Thank God we have the play in to: stop tanking and make each game meaningful 😂🎉😂
Don’t reward tanking. Make the lottery straight up for non playoff teams.
Don't play, no pay.
There. I fixed it for you.
3:57 AINT THAT THE TRUTH. These divas are so soft just resting for no reason. Hello… people are coming to see you play not sit down.
5:02 ??? Yeah but now the stars will play 17 games instead of 16. Duh. You just said that. They don’t play the last one. So now we see stars play 1 more game.
It’s all about 💰THE MONEY💰……
Players make SO MUCH money ……
Risk / Reward ……
The Lakers get an F for playing Luka against OKC on the road in a game that ment ZERO to the Lakers getting the 3 seed ……
12:08 1 seed picks from 5-8. 2 chooses from remaining teams 5-8. 3 chooses from remaining 5-8. 4 gets the last team there. That’s how it should be.
if you are a wise fan of the game, you will accept that professional sports can destroy players bodies for their entire life. they can be hobbled by the intensity of being a professional player. a lot of those old guys that played through pain can barely walk. a lot are dead from getting addicted to alcohol and drugs due to living with chronic pain. a lot of them died early because they could get normal exercise due to being disabled from playing professional sports.
if you are a true fan you should be happy to see your whole team. its a team sport. all 15 players are important. you should be excited to see bench get their opportunity to showcase their game after being dedicated to the sport their whole life. you should be excited to see guys earn their contract and create a legacy for themselves, their family, and their community who supported them.
the sports media needs to criticize themselves as much as the players. I like that Nick did this in this segment. Bravo nick.
Modern NBA training staff are more knowledgeable than ever. These players are amazing; they are drawn from a large pool of international players that start training at a high level in childhood.
Fans and the media would benefit from focusing less on the negative stories in sports. there are so many great, dedicated players. Modern sportsmanship is great. Things don't always have to be the same as they were. I am grateful for the NBA protecting its players. its easy for me because sports ruined my body. I played high school sports year-round in the late 90's and college in the early 2000's. I played in a time of men pressuring each other to push through the pain too much. sorry to use a political term because it may trigger some people, but I think the term is appropriate. I feel "toxic masculinity" ruined my health and I speak out to warn others. like with everything in life, it's a balancing act. you want to push yourself to be better, but not so hard that injuries are permanent.
WE LOVE, L.O.V.E., THE GENTLEMAN
For me, the whole sitting out is just taking your position for granted. You are making a great ampunt of bank bwing able to play in the NBA. That bank comes from the people who show up to support. So just to aot out all of the players who people comw to see is pretty bad.
Resting guys before the playoffs happens in basically every sport. What is Nick talking about?
MIL is close to KC than DEN
In basketball and hockey, dont buy late game tickets
They get away with sitting players out in the nba because people still coming to the games 🤦🏾. The sport I use to love I want watch a regular season game now and your lucky is i cut on a playoff game. Imagine getting paid at your job for the whole year, but only half to show up fifty percent of the time. And in the busy season 🙌🏾sign me up.😂😂 I miss the Real NBA
Nick think the spurs in trouble but the lakers making it to the second round. Clown 🤡
It’s low IQ content like this that produces low IQ casual fans. Look at his predictions last year Nick was wrong in every round of the playoffs.
Driving through Kansas is a punishment no one thought of ever happening until you experienced it 😮
If the Joker or even the scoring champion don’t win MVP, this league has no integrity.
Nick ain't wrong, that drive across Kansas is ROUGH.
He is, however wrong about the players needing to play in the last game if it's meaningless. All it takes is one good player getting hurt and your chip hopes are DONE.
You're right, I don't like the Gentleman.
I LOVE the Gentleman.
How about everyone complaining about superstars not qualifying for post-season awards because they aren’t playing the minimum number of games. Absolute losers! I think the players should not get paid for rest days. That would solve the problem entirely. Soft players, softer fans for wanting them to be recognized.
Loved the opening before he got to the A1 block (the pre block was legit)
I'ma play devils advocate why not shorten the seasons? 74 games hear me out the 64 62 game minimum makes way more sense that way resting not as big of an issue you could start like game 1 of the season for teams on Christmas or around Christmas witch would be great for ratings records will be earned because teams will have to try harder after that change the tanking rules so the bottom teams actually try and expand the league with two more teams you would get some teams that wouldn't see each other for the regular season so when they do it would be a markey match I just don't see the downside players would be happy teams would probably get better turn outs cause of fomo and the only reason I see something like this not working is the Billionaires want to squeeze out a couple more dollars of attendance money for this least games.
Wanna make the post season matter more? Get rid of the play in. Eliminate the 8 seed.
Oh boo hoo Nick. So the stars are out for the last weekend? What a tragedy. I thought the Iran war was bad, but this???? I’m a Thunder fan. It Shai had played in those last two meaningless games and come down bad on a knee and torn an ACL, that would have been unbearable for young fans. I can do without for 2 games. I can’t believe the Bulls risked Jordan in a meaningless game.
Starters wouldn't need to rest so many games if there weren't as many of them. The simple fact is that the pace of the game is so much higher and the game is so much more physically demanding that they CANT play as much as they used to.
Broussard is so full of snot.
Cancel my thought process is, y'all tell me if I'm wrong for this…. But I quite frankly hope the Spurs lose just because I am still having fantasy dreams about Wendy and giannis being on the same team together. Look I did the trade on 2k, and for a lot of y'all to think that it will not work, it works beautifully. I think I want about 50 games. Mind you… Assimilated more than half the season. I mean like I play games here and there just to test it out but I simulated majority of the season. And giannis, was at the top of the league in assists. I just think having both Wemby and giannis defending your bad side, and then a combination of wemby, giannis and De'arron Fox coming down on a fast break… In a Stefan castle, I just don't think that the rest of the league will be able to compete with something like that
“This doesn’t happen in any other sport” sure if basketball is the only sport
At this point if you're going to the final game of the season expecting to see the best players play 40 minutes the inevitable disappointment is on you.
31:38 the people need the gentleman! Lol
When did NBA players get SO shameless & soft. So frustrating, the tanking, flopping, load management, schedule gaming 🤦♂️
The league failed when the last 2 minutes of a game started to take 30 minutes to play.
Injuries are a part of sports. You can't operate to not get hurt. It only leads to injury.
A man will meet his destiny on the very road he took to avoid it.
