We have finally been healthy for the most part. We want are licks back from Cleveland and Toronto. Especially with that 50 point loss. Cleveland and Orlando have a mini rivalry. I see us in Conference Finals. Boston will win but P.5 will get some more battles with Tatum that will undoubtedly be great for his development

I love that you’re willing to go out on a limb and not play it safe. You’re reacting to what you’re analyzing, and I just don’t see the major counterpunch from the Pistons. You need great pull up shooting and guard play to beat the Magic and the Pistons don’t have that in their cards. Maybe if Ausar was more like Amen, or if Duncan Robinson was prime Ray Allen they’d have a chance. But the Magic are also not a typical 8 seed that has no business being in the playoffs. They have unique strengths and can challenge the top teams on a good day.

People forget that franz only played 34 games with 11 of those being injured or on limited minutes because of his injury. Hes a massive difference maker and was averaging 23,4,6 when he was healthy. Also a very good defender
basketball can be very matchup dependant
a team significantly smaller than you can beat you with speed but you always hate to see a team just a little bigger than you. they won’t be big wnough to be so slow you can run by you but the slight length advantage can make gaurding you easier for them. this happened to the celtics when we ran into the magic a few years back, the two teams are a bit different now but this could be a similar situation for detroit here

We read a lot into the regular season records, but those were really just because the Magic started to hate their head coach, and Detroit has a much steadier superstar …… but there really has never been a meaningful difference between these teams IN the context where they're both playing at 100%. For all the reasons mentioned, and the fact that these two coaches are not out-scheming anyone. Detroit's just a few years away from realizing it. They both just want to hand the ball to their best playmaker and stop thinking about it. Neither of those playmakers is transcendent, but one team has offensive talent around that star, and one doesn't.
I’m not a Piston or Magic fan. Orlando is dangerous and likely to give Detroit more smoke. That said, I don’t necessarily think Detroit is “in trouble”… yet. Let me see them go down 0-2 or 1-3, then I’d agree.

Jas9n and I have an interesting disagreement. He says Mag tuff match-up for DET cuz of the Mag' physicality. As I see it, the Pistons are a tuff match for ORL cuz of DET's physicality. It's the Mag's physicality/dirty play that that wins them games, DET is the team they can't bully. The Mag won that game, congrats to them, but it wasn't because they were the more physical team. Bane is one of the players usually dishing out punishment, how many times did he have to pick himself up off the floor? imho, the Pistons are the worst possible match-up for the Mag.
