Great analysis. This is why I dont think SA gets past Denver bc SA's lack of experience is going to cost a home game to Denver and im not sure they can get it back on the road. Same thing happened to OKC against Dallas. Also technically OKC is ahead of schedule bc they were the 2nd youngest team ever to win chip 25.8 avg age. Their current avg age is the same as the Warriors first chip. Last Haliburton had Siakim who had the experience.
Thank you for talking about the Thunder! THUNDER UP!
Context usually matters when using regular season matchup to predict a playoff series. For instance, 3 of SA 4 wins came in a 2 week stretch of December. First matchup was the Cup finals and it was a 2 point game. The 2nd game OKC was on the 2nd night of a back to back on the road. Also their win in Feb was over OKC third string.
Are the Spurs dangerous? Yes. Are they one of the biggest threats to OKC? Yes. But to claim they are favorites in a 7 game playoff series is huge stretch. Most of those games were 4+ months ago when OKC was trying to work Jdub back into game shape and they had been dealing with guys in and out of the lineup.
Playoff basketball is different beast. If they meet up in the WCF im taking the Thunder in 5.
Wemby/SAS fans and national media can glaze the Spurs all they want but IMHO I really hope OKC (if they make it) does face the Spurs in the WCF instead of Jokic and those savvy vets Nuggets.
