I think with Domas likely being the most valuable player on the Kings, and being one of the highest paid players on a roster that is way above budget, I think it would be one of the smartest trades right now. If we can free up that cash and get some great draft capital over the next couple years, I think that would pave the way to a legit rebuild. Have Max take the main center position, with Carwell and Precious sharing the 4 position, Keegan and hunter at the 3, Lavine and Clifford at the 2, and Russ and Malik at the 1. This is assuming we also don’t resign Demar, and hopefully we get a decent draft pick and can pick up one of the top point guard draft picks. That’s the roster I envision next year
Maybe Sobonas will be better in Portland & go home with his carreer & Portland just maybe have an asset or 2 to give back & even Keegan brother can be in the deal & maybe get a PG out of it
I completely disagree with Matt on this. So many fans have jumped to similar stances on Domas, but I can’t stress how important he is to building a complete team. The Kings could draft a PG like Acuff who would pair really well with Domas. Having Maxime earn his minutes off the bench isn’t a bad thing either. This could make the kings much better moving forward than people realize. Acuff would play well with Domas in very similar ways to how Fox worked well with Domas. But then Boozer or another Big would work well next to Domas like Myles Turner played well with him early in his career. People forget that Domas is much more versatile and capable of playing with other stars. Domas helps other stars elevate their games, so why wouldn’t we want to keep him?
