LATE DRAMA After ONE-SIDED START | Real Madrid – Hapoel | EuroLeague Basketball PLAYOFFS GAME 1
Real Madrid registered its first win in the 2026 EuroLeague Playoffs by downing Hapoel 86-82 at Movistar Arena in the Spanish capital in Game 1 of the best-of-five series. Real hosts Game 2 on Friday. It was Hapoel’s first-ever EuroLeague Playoffs game, and Real’s 18th home win of the season in 19 games.
Facu Campazzo led the winners with 21 points. Trey Lyles added 13, Mario Hezonja scored 11 and Gabriel Deck got 10 for Real, which led almost from start to finish. Antonio Blakeney paced Hapoel with 25 points. Dan Oturu posted 20 points and 17 rebounds to set a playoff rebounding record. Vasilije Micic added 15 points and Chris Jones tallied 14 points and 8 assists for the visitors.
Los Blancos raced to a 27-18 margin at the end of the first quarter and extended it to 46-26 near halftime. Hapoel rallied late in the fourth quarter to get within 4 on back-to-back three-pointers by Blakeney but missed three times from downtown in the final seconds.
