  1. Pistons can draft Henri Veesaar if they want a shooting big. He isnt perfect but Pistons can experiment him and Ausar lineup to see how it goes.

Also, I could be wrong but if pistons operate an under the cap team they won't have room exception.

Ayo Dosunmu is the free agent you guys wanted to mention I guess

  2. Fantasy land. Brandon Miller for Ausar Thompson. Hornets get the improved physicality and an elite point of attack defender to pair with shooting all over already. Pistons get a true number 2 option for Cade and floor spacer for Duren.

  3. Agreed, Langdon has to get a legit second option. Funny the Rockets accelerated their timeline too soon while Detroit's inaction stalled theirs. The East will be better next year and it's incumbent upon him to make sure Detroit is very close to the top

  4. I think the Bucks would be thrilled to have Duren in addition to whatever they get for Giannis. It would help since they probably won't get the haul for Giannis they could have two seasons ago

  5. Ok, let's assume the entire goal is building around Cade and just remove the problem:

    1) Ausar and a first round pick to New Orleans for Trey Murphy III. This probably requires renouncing a bunch of FAs so DET can take on the difference in salaries.

    2) Duren (31M/year S&T) and LeVert to Milwaukee for Myles Turner and AJ Green. No extra picks. Detroit gives up youth for fit.

    3) Draft Alleen Graves at 21.

Starting lineup of Cade, Duncan, Trey, Stew, Turner. Stew isn't exactly a dynamic shooter, but he's not a NON-shooter. Jenkins, Green, Holland II, Graves, and Reed off the bench. They have shooting. They still have defenders and toughness. They still have real draft assets to work with (though they might need more added to the Trey deal). But it's basically a brand new team.

  6. No, Bryce, there are definitely people who think Langdon has done a bad job. He has built a low-ceiling team with no shooting and no assets and no decent forwards who aren't already in their 30s. It's fucking dire.

(And yes, it's mostly Weaver's fault, but Langdon has operated like he just didn't understand how disastrous a position the team was in when they hired him.)

  7. This is the reason I wanted them to make a deal this trade deadline. They keep saying it was expensive but it’s only getting more expensive and your ability to make a trade gets more and more limited with big number contacts falling of the books with the only remaining ones being players who make up your core.

  8. Sam finally got so close to what this team should be next year at the end but swap levert salary and some picks for a knockdown stretch 4 that pushes Tobias to your bench. Cade/Powell/Ausar/Stretch4/Duren and bench to Daniss/Duncan/Ron/Tobias/Stew. Reed/Green/Sasser for depth.

  9. Thank you for your fine work, Sam! Paying Duren will ruin the future even more than it's already ruined (and it is already very ruined).

Myles Turner is a good call, also.

  10. Did you two listen to Trajan Langdon exit press conference. He didn't sing like he plans to do shit to improve the team from outside. So if they think they can make Ausar into a shooter why can't they do the same thing for Holland.

  11. De’Aaron Fox for Ausar swap? Spurs get a special defensive wing that pairs with a bunch of shooters.
Pistons get a younger vet to provide shooting, creation, and pace

  12. They should sign Duren and extend Ausar. Their ability to play in the playoffs is going to need somw offensive development from both guys. But them and Cade dominated their minutes together in the regular season. They will figure out how to make it translate better to the playoffs. Need a short term second scorer
