The Philadelphia 76ers hired Mike Gansey as their new President of Basketball Operations, and while I like the hire and the experience he brings from helping build the Cleveland Cavaliers into a contender, I don’t believe this changes the biggest problem facing the franchise.
The reality is simple: it doesn’t matter who the president is, who the coach is, or who is running the front office if Joel Embiid can’t stay healthy.
For over a decade, the Sixers have built everything around Embiid’s talent. When he’s on the court, he’s one of the most dominant players in basketball. But championship teams need availability, continuity, and certainty. The Sixers have had none of those things.
Tyrese Maxey recently admitted the team is constantly adjusting its style of play depending on Embiid’s availability. That’s not a championship formula. That’s survival mode.
With Embiid having missed more regular-season games than he’s played in his career and the Sixers committed to massive contracts for both Embiid and Paul George, is there any realistic path to contention?
In this episode, I break down why Mike Gansey may be a smart hire, but why the future of the franchise still comes down to one question:
Can Joel Embiid stay on the floor?

Don't agree with you. If they find the capable understudy for Joelle in the draft then when he gets hurt they will not lose as much momentum as if they're trying to plug a square peg into a round hole perhaps that individual is Johni. Broome or Henri versaar
Now who is the GM going to be this time?
Brand did nothing for GM last time!
Embiid played hurt didn't sit on his ass and we still criticize him. Management failed him by not getting the right players around him. Embiid didn't sign Paul George. He didn't sign Harden. Management did.
