Grant is shooting the ball really well to start the year, but he’s averaging 8ppg and 4rpg. Do people really expect a team to throw ~$20m per year at this type of role player? I don’t.

Last offseason, contracts above the full MLE were very rare. Excellent excellent players were needing to accept 12 million dollar deals because that’s all that was out there in cash.
The offseason before, 4x All star Derozan settled for 25M.
I am all for giving Grant what it takes to bring him back, but he is going to find that teams with 18-25 million in budget really should be looking at bigger fish right now.

Celtics are definitely paying that luxury next season, but I think Wyc will finally be happy to pay it. With everyone healthy(God I pray) the C’s can go on a multi-year run.
