When Fred is mainly taking catch & shoot 3s instead of pull ups & iso-ing, we are able to get more guys involved the way we did tonight. We snapped the Knicks 8 game W streak & now the Cavs 5 game W streak. Feels like we can build on these last 2 wins. Our W streak is otw.

This is how it should be, Fred should never take the most or second most shots on our team, he should be the #3-4 option depending on the night.
His iso possessions take too long and for the most part really inefficient while taking away opportunities for Barnes and OG to work on their offensive game and playmaking.
Fred should be strictly used as an off ball player in our offense and once in a while used as a secondary ball handler instead of the primary.
Yet that Flynn Trent Jr OG Scottie Pascal lineup in the 4th dribbled the whole clock down then forced up a last second shot just to avoid a shot clock violation for like 5 possessions in a row forcing Nurse to call a timeout
As long as the offense doesn’t run plays that’s what the offense is going to amount to for periods of time. No clue where the delusion that only Fred does that came from especially when he’s 6th in the entire NBA in passes per game
It’s almost like when he said in the off season when he would take a step back, he should’ve listened to himself. The team is infinitely better when he’s not being a ball hog
It’s all about finding the equilibrium. Last game against the Knicks we needed Fred to take those shots because nobody other than Pascal was even a scoring threat. Scottie was 1/10, OG wasn’t getting the looks and we didn’t have Gary.
This game we had Scottie and OG cooking, so Fred was able to get away with less shots. Even then, there was a period in the 4th where the offense looked atrocious without Fred.
The most important thing for us right now is to get Scottie going offensively. He needs to understand that he’s only going to be a good playmaker if he’s a consistent scoring threat in this game.
He’s been having great games even with the ball in his hand, Scottie needs to stay engaged like he did today, the way he was trying to get rebounds and set screens really changed everything for everyone.
The Flynn Fred minutes have been really positive. Having two guys that can penetrate, kick out and shoot is very important for us (especially when pascal sits) even if it means giving up a bit on the defensive end. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if we keep FVVand trade Gary if we’re only gonna play him 20min a night
I honestly think this is what Fred wants, and that he’s not as selfish as what people say he is. I notice he starts chucking when the team has no rhythm, trying to spark the offence. Though, I’d prefer that he’d focus on ball movement rather than shoot-first when that happens.
More like Scottie decided to show up tonight. Love him and he’s great but he doesn’t show up with the same intensity every night.
He was averaging 11 pts a game on the road. Tonight he has that in the first quarter.
When we get this Scottie everything falls into place.
