OKAY
Sigh. Time to watch josh richardson highlights. There goes my productivity
Damn. For Graham and 4 second round picks. That’s a lot of Herbs.
At least Jrich a servicable chucker over DG
Low risk decent reward trade tbh
DG and Four second round picks for Josh. 2 rounders are flying around today like crazy.
44% from 3? OK
We want OG Anunoby? Where is he?
How great of a 3 and d guy is he
Upgrade over Graham. Better than nothing, I guess
This is pretty bad asset management
Don’t really know him. What’s his game?
Hell yeah! A fellow Arsenal fan as well? COYG
This guy is a bum
Hasn’t been playing too efficiently base off his stats (i haven’t been watching the Spurs lol) but really gives us that size at the guard position we need
Is this a good move?
Decent price to get off Grahams contract. And potentially useful player.
I’ll be interested to see if the same people saying KD would take away from Treys minutes will have that same energy for Josh Richardson.
That’s a good trade and dumping DG is a good move JRich has been shooting the ball well this season.
Objectively a good trade for New Orleans in my opinion.
Griffin really didn’t want to give up a first to get rid of Graham. Richardson is only signed for this season. So it gives New Orleans flexibility. That’s a big reason for this trade.
Seems like a streaky 3pt shooter. But last season he shot 41.5% on 3.8 attempts.
If he fits and plays well with New Orleans for the rest of the season and the playoffs, you sign him in the off-season. If it doesn’t work, you let him walk and no big lost.
I am sad because Devonte seemed to be a good locker room guy. But this is pretty huge. Willie Green loves Graham too much. Griffin had to take one of his toys away.
Better 3pt shooter, more height and length, better defender. Off the hook for $12+ million next season and another season after that. If Richardson plays like his career numbers and fits well, New Orleans will sign him to around that number. 2 years, 24 million or something. 4 seconds is whatever. You can replenish those easily.
6’6″, 29yo. From Oklahoma. Went to Tennessee. Drafted by Miami. 4 seasons there. 1 with Philly. 1 with Dallas. 1/2 with Boston. 1.5 with Spurs.
Has a good smile.
Edit: Also, a good amount of playoff experience. 30 games played. Haven’t seen anyone in this sub bring that up yet. That’s a big thing for this young team. Most on the team have played 6 total and that was last year.
I’m shocked the amount of people who don’t know Josh Richardson lol. Very solid upgrade over devonte.
Finally some extra height in the guard position
Good fucking trade. Not a huge splash but we got a food role player
not too mad about it
It’s a good move. It’s an upgrade overall. He is a better player than DG, and can create his own shot incl. being able to get to the basket with some force (DG could penetrate but he was really not a good finisher). He is as good of a shooter, if not a little bit better tbh. He is a bigger guard, and can defend 1-3, and sometimes even 4. DG couldn’t defend much of anything consistently. Etc.
He’s also played for a lot of really good coaches incl the past year under Pop. Took a leadership role as a young vet and was asked to do a little more than a better team would have asked of him. Now he gets to just compete again, just be one of the guys, which i’m sure he’ll appreciate.
He’ll have a much easier time on both ends because of the talent around him and he’ll get to play in meaningful games again.
Probably takes Dyson’s minutes. Which a lot of fans might not love, but Richardson is, right now, a more complete player. Dyson will be special, but he’s raw and has a lot of learning to do as a basketball player at this level; and if we’re trying to make a deep run this year, Richardson offers more.
I doubt we’ll see him in the rotation right away. But after the ASB, probably.
