Will Russ help our offense or hurt it?
I’m not optimistic, but if he’s used in the right way and buys in he could be helpful.
Should we see how Westbrook performs during these last 20 games to render verdict or would it be too soon, wait for the playoffs?
This can either go great or blow up in our face big time. It all depends on how Ty Lue uses Westbrook.
He can be a energizer bunny off the bench playing in one or two 5-7 minute shifts when things get stagnant, I don’t see Westbrook as a 3rd star but as a role player who will bring energy, rebounding and hustle off the bench when needed. Plus he will be locker room guy and PG will be happy with his friend around.

He probably helps, on offense right? As to how much, that's the question. I don't want to see some 5 on 4 defenses every time russ come up the court. Our ball movement gonna have to be impeccable to make this work

I am going to roast Westbrook and all his fans in 3 months time. If I am wrong then roast me. Westbrook is going to do stupid shit and cost the Clippers of that I have no doubt. Westbrook is trash. Dude can't shoot is a dodgy defender and turnover machine. I was against Eric Gordon but I would take Gordon over Westbrook any day of the week. Can you believe the Lakers got Vanderbilt Beasley and DLO and we got Westbrook? I would honestly prefer a G League player like Nate Dowling or Keaten Wallace or Xavier Moon over Westbrook. The team mascot could probably shoot better than Westbrook! PG13 should be on the trade block after this debacle.
Do not use his time on the lakers to judge him ya it was just a bad fit
Clippers fans have spoken. We don't want Westbrook. The Clippers reporters and writers and fans are almost all negative towards Westbrook. I would sooner have Will Barton or Stanley Johnson sit on the bench as the 15th man than Westbrook. PG13 and Laurence Frank have a lot to answer for. Most Clipper posts start with I am not optimistic but if he accepts a limited role and doesn't start or finish games it could work 🤣
Russ is a great pickup for us
He is everything we need
Great playmaker
Good rebounder
Can attack the basket
Problem is ty lue will play him over mann +
He will play him more than 25 min +
He will play him with the 3 guard line up +
And the worst scenario that he will close the game over mann or gordan
The first thing is dealing with his attitude when he’s asked to come off the bench. Then not playing him during crunch time.
I have to disagree about Kawhi running the floor; he does get out and run, more so than Paul George. Kawhi actually pushes the pace if possible, he gets the rebound he’s looking for an outlet or he will start up court after the pass. George doesn’t really want to pass to anyone so he rarely tries to run. Just keeping it 💯.
The Clippers need more Kawhi & Norm and less Paul George. Most of the past 15 or so games, Kawhi and Norm are leading the way. Sure, PG has had a few good games, but for the most part it’s been them and Mann providing energy as well. Russ in the lineup is expected to benefit George the most bc he is his friend, as was Jackson. But we will see how it plays out.
They shouldn’t be concerned with Russ getting a chip, especially George, he’s never won anything.
Worse. I would never start Russ. Why start him over guys who’ve put in work all season? Start RoCo or Nico start over Morris at PF. Morris has earned the bench duty bc he slows the tempo & plays zero defense.

From Reggie Jackson and John Wall to… Russel Westbrook. I would agree slight upgrade around the rim and hopefully he only takes shots 3 inches from the rim lol this second half of the NBA is going to be fun to see and I hope everyone stays healthy.
I’ve been trying to be more optimistic too. I’ve also seen a few interesting takes that focus on the positives Russ could possibly bring.
I just hope he doesn’t hurt team chemistry.

Its true that it was unfair maybe for Wall to be traded early while not given the time to prove that he can play with Kawhi and PG..
Because for me, I'd rather have J Wall instead of Westbrook really.. But definitely PG knows better that he wants Russ..So let's see..

Don’t forget the Lakers had no shooting with Russ. It was dumb for them to get Russ when LeBron has a very similar play style, high usage driving into the paint and not shooting well from the outside.
Plus, they traded their best role players to get Russ
I don't think Russ should start. I would prefer to see him with the 2nd unit. Let him earn the start. It shouldn't be handed to him. Also, wherever he plays, he should not be in the final mins. Allow EG and Powell to continue closing. Do I think it will work? I can't say. It depends on what Ty Lou does. Plus, we have to see them on the court for a few games first

Russ will collapse any defense which will lead to Klaw's midrange shots plus Russ averages 10 plus rebounds and assists every game. Russ fits us well. Far as Russ not being the PG that Frank wants? No, Frank did want Russ because name 1 other "PG" that averages 10 plus assists? Plus rebounds? We good.

U just don't understand clippers don't need a triple double stats from westbrook on a daily basis coz clearly stat padding hasn't really got his teams nowhere especially in the playoffs where the W is the goal not individual great stats but still results in a L?! Tmann might not be a better player than mvp triple double westbrook but tmann is the perfect player the clippers need coz of his hustle, defense, height advantage compared to other guards and can knock down treys when left wide open something westbrook can never give the clippers!

If Ty Lue can stagger Pg and Russ in some type of lineup when Kawhi sits. It can work. How the starting lineup works out is a mystery but T-man, Gordan, Norm, Klaw, Plumee lineup works in midst of the game. Russ,Pg,Morris,Batum, Zu. Are the 2 best lineups to run outside of whatever the starting lineups is. Although I would like to get Roco in more in place of Morris if he isn't engaged or really contributing scoring or defensive wise
Finally! You acknowledge that John Wall was never given a fair shot. He's a much smarter player and better shooter than Westbrook to fit better with Kawhi and PG. You should be counting the total minutes they played together instead of the games.
