I absolutely love Giannis, and this was an insane play, BUT this just goes to show that if you succeed in what you try to do, you will get praised, and if you don’t, you will be ridiculed like there’s no tomorrow. And what I mean by that, is if Giannis missed the block (which he has before in the past) and still collided with Nunn in the same way, this play would’ve been reviewed for a flagrant, and half of r/NBA would be grabbing pitchforks and coming after Giannis for being a dirty and reckless player.
But since he got the block, it’s GG and an insane highlight.
The point I’m trying to make, is that when players go after blocks like this, yes it’s dangerous and there’s risk with it; however, there’s generally not a dirty intent in mind when trying to go for the block. It’s just that sometimes you have success, and other times you miss. But the point is that these dudes don’t give up on plays, and they hustle to try and make a play; not to be dirty.
