[Robson] I just don’t have a lot in common with Wolves fans/watchers who are mad at that game. Wolves were as high as 9-point underdog (Shaq thought it would be 30), missing their 2 best defenders, playing on road vs team with 2nd best W-L record in NBA since All Star break

Very level headed take. Britt’s a good dude.

Ultimately, this is where I’m at. To me, this was an incredibly gutsy performance against a Laker team with a ton more talent on the court than the Wolves did.

Yes, their offense died, but there were some reasons for that out of their control including the Lakers defense, the lack of quality bench, and guys getting tired cause they had to play 40+ minutes.

The “fire Finch” stuff in this sub seems incredibly dumb. They were and outmatched team tonight talent wise and on of the reasons they were in the game at all was because of a good coaching plan coming into the game.

I just can’t find myself to get all that bent out of shape after a loss like this. It certainly suck, but given how much they had going against them coming into the game, and during it, it should be impressive that they almost won, along with disappointing.

Think alot of the initial reaction is just from how close we were. We had this game if we execute.

  4. scofieldslays

reading this in a sea of fire Finch comments is hilarious. Britt knows ball

  5. From the start of the game, if you told me we lost in OT to Lebron and AD, that’s fair play, but if you’re up big in the third quarter, pregame spreads don’t matter anymore imo. We had such a good chance to win that game.

Bro I was at the game tonight, and I even feel this way. Being there as an opposing fan was a whole other vibe I’ve never experienced before. We had no right being that close to winning it with the limitations we had. It was a good fight

  7. I’m tired of moral victories man…

I had like 0 expectations for this game but to be up by 15 and completely choke it away with the same nonsense that crushed us last year is a killer.

  8. SteveIDP

He’s right, of course. But man, moral victories just don’t cut it anymore. Minnesota sports are sucking the life out of us.

  9. chillinwithmoes

Yeah sitting here looking back you can say “well, they did way better than anyone expected them to” but if you actually examine the game there is absolutely no reason that they should have lost. They were whooping the Lakers on both ends of the court for three quarters. It was their game to lose and they worked their asses off to lose it. They needed to produce **13** points in the 4th quarter to win the game, and it was too tall of a task for them.

  10. ShakesbeerMe

Absolutely agree with Britt. It was always going to be a screw job.

Lakers called for 11 less fouls. In the second half the shot 17 fts and we shot three.

We were missing 3 of our best players. Lakers are getting rolled in the first round.

The NBA is corrupt as fuck but the Wolves fought hard.

  11. Just win on Friday and it doesn’t matter but the 4th quarter of this game was a disaster on a ton of levels including finch. You can’t just have players freelancing when nobody can even get a shot off, there was zero intent on any of our offensive possessions for an entire quarter, and that’s the part the coach has to help up with, why does nothing get drawn up?

You can’t run “cook his ass” offense when your one star has 5 fouls and will certainly get called for a charge any time he goes near a Laker on a drive, and the other star looks like he’s on another planet. Either get dudes that can do that in (NAW, Nowell) or give the players some help (coach!)

I wonder how this fan base would deal with consistent success. The sky always has to be falling for us to feel anything I wonder how that would take.

  13. Global_Ingenuity_783

Quit buying the media narrative the the Lakers are a good team, they aren’t.

  14. It’s because we saw this same exact thing happen last year in the playoffs multiple times. Just sick and tired of it happening over and over again.

  15. Auineedabandaid

Doesn’t understand why the fan base is disappointed because we added one more number for the networks to flash for 10+ point leads blown this year ? Yes we played well in the beginning but pretty sure people are just upset that we had so many low IQ plays in the 2nd half. Who cares about expectations before the game we played poorly in the actual game after showing we could play well and make good decisions and calm plays.

  16. Cgmadman

Question is, would we win that game if Rudy played?

Ant just had to make ONE of those 3-point attempts. Man, broken record, but what if…

  17. Oh i ain’t never thot aboot it like that, i guess we did peertty good for a wolves team

  18. donwothe

Idk man. Sure if i hadn’t watched that game that’d be about what I’d expect. But that was brutal to watch. Between kat foul trouble, ant dribbling out possessions, 25 TOs, and the lackers kept try to give us the game. Kinda just want an off-season at this point cause they are just not ready and undermanned.

  19. hitman2218

It was the 19th time they’ve blown a double-digit lead and lost. How could you not be mad?

  20. SlimReaperSlinky21

Anyone that agrees, loves mediocrity. Loser mentality. No one feels bad for dumb decisions players do at game 82.. we got to be better. The talent on this team is enough to beat the lakers without those other guys. We’re sucha dumb team and i’m sick of it. There’s no reason why our stars should crap the bed that badly in clutch time.. somethings needs to be addressed.

And why can’t we get free throw love from the refs? Granted we’d probably make half of them anyway.

I’m so disappointed. We can’t be content with this.

My only praise is for Conley. The guy was the sole reason we were close all game long. Not disappearing the whole game (ant) or after 3Qs (kat) as supermax players.

  21. Do_it_My_Way-79

I just don’t have a lot in common with Wolves fans who keep defending their failures & try to sugarcoat the failures they accomplish year in & year out. Nobody remembers moral victories, especially ones where the team blew a double-digit lead.

  22. endless_ness

Media members who think fans should always be okay with losing always crack me up. The wolves haven’t been consistently good since 2005 and he’s acting like he is above fans who feel disappointed in what was supposed to be a year where we were good

  23. in_da_tr33z

Fuck moral victories. Team played like shit down the stretch. They could and should have won the game and fans are 100% justified in being angry.

  24. spiderman96

I’m mad because it was easily winnable at the end and we kept shooting ourselves in the foot with stupid turn overs dumb fouls… It doesn’t matter if people thought we had no chance to win because in the moment we had every chance to win and some of the same things that have been holding us back for two years show their face again in the biggest spots and it’s frustrating

  25. frenchcantbetrusted

Blew a 15 point lead and only put 9 in the 4th quarter. Why are we supposed to be proud of that?

  26. ButtlickerBoi

He’s right; we should give the benefit of the doubt to the least successful franchise in the history of sport that just lost to a 7-seed after two starters got suspended/injured punching a teammate/wall.
