Rockets WILLING To Trade Jalen Green For A Star?

The Houston Rockets discussed the possibility of including Jalen Green in a trade offer for an established star when they interviewed head coaching candidates, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. Green was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft and averaged 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists (https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Jalen-Green/Summary/117342) in his second season.
The Rockets hired Ime Udoka as head coach and have designs on expediting their rebuild. They have been linked with a free agent pursuit of James Harden, while the possibility of pursuing Khris Middleton in free agency was also discussed. Jaylen Brown, who has been one of Udoka’s most public supporters, becomes extension eligible with the Boston Celtics this offseason. Brown can become a free agent in 2024 if he doesn’t sign an extension. — JAKE FISCHER/YAHOO SPORTS

  1. I don't see Jalen Green as a guy to build your franchise around. Since there's a strong possibility the Rockets will land either Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson in the draft, I think trading Jalen Green is the right move. They should probably trade Jabari Smith, too.
